Great Apartment in a Perfect Location

My family and I stayed at this apartment for a week in March. We knew we wanted to stay in the 8th but also be in a place that had a neighborhood feel. This was the perfect apartment. Located on the 8th floor across from the stunning Église Saint-Augustin, the apartment has a wrap-around balcony with beautiful views of the city. It's also conveniently located near a Monoprix, several bistros and one of my favorite parks in Paris, Parc Monceau. Claire and her daughter were very professional as far as making arrangements for our stay and we immediately felt at home upon arrival. We will most definitely be back at this apartment on our next visit to Paris.

A warm home to come home to

We stayed at this beautiful apartment for 7 nights in December before Cristmas. The lovely Claire met us there with a warm welcome and a pretty Christmas tree to make us feel special. It had everything we needed . We could walk to the Champs Elysees, Louvre Museum and it had a wonderful view, the same as the description. There are many restaurants around the area and it is also very close to the train stations. We enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood behind the apartment which lead to local markets, cafes, many bakeries and cheese shops. The supermarket was very close and you can get baguettes and cheese in the morning for breakfast. After our tiring trips and long walks, it was so nice to know that we could come back to a warm, clean and relaxing place. We would recomend this apartment to anyone. Thank you for letting us stay at your apartment ,Claire. <br/>We really enjoyed the stay.

Room with a view

This was our third stay in the apartment. It's very comfortable, has good views and is very convenient for getting around Paris, either by public transport or walking. The immediate area is also well provided with food shops, bars and restaurants.

...and Claire is the best! She was there at the apartment right on time and her greeting was most warm and friendly. She gave us a thorough check-out of the appliances, computer connection, TV, DVD, and CD players, and heating and cooling systems. [This kindasorta sounds like an aircraft checkout, doesn't it?] <br/> <br/>The apartment is fully equipped with microwave, toaster, vacuum cleaner, iron and board, dishes, glasses (even a martini glass!), bar stools, spices and basic cooking supplies, and plenty of hanging space and clothes drawers. <br/> <br/>The apartment was spotless, everything worked perfectly, and was exactly as described in the listing. <br/> <br/>The location is perfect amd. despite being located near a very busy intersection, very quiet. Gare St-Lazarre, a major transportation hub for trains, RER, and Metro is just a five minute walk. You can get to any destination in any of the three closest Metro zones in no more than 25 minutes, and that means the farthest points of interest. Les Halles is 15 minutes, Porte de Clignancorte (flea market and antiques) is 25, and all others are easily within reach. <br/> <br/>The balcony and chairs are wonderful for a cocktail before heading out for the evening, and the sunrise over Sacre Cour was breathtaking. <br/> <br/>Short version: If you are lucky enough to find an open time in the schedule, take it! Claire will treat you well.

Location & Apartment are Outstanding

My wife and I stayed here for nearly two weeks in late July, 2010. We've stayed in many apartments in Paris and this apartment is by far the best for its price. Air conditioning made mid-summer days and nights very comfortable (two separate A/Cs, living area and bedroom). The large balcony with a city view was really nice for dining (unfortunately the church blocks any view of the Eiffel Tower). The location is walking distance to 2 regular grocery stories, the Metro and Galeries Lafayette. Plus it is remarkably quiet for its location; all the heavy traffic is two city blocks away. It's nicely stocked with everything you need (except food). The washer/dryer means you can keep clothes fresh. The Internet is really high speed (I think I measured it at 10-15MB/s down, which is plenty fast), lots of hot water, and an elevator make this top-floor pied-à-terre nearly perfect. (We couldn't tell if it was technically the top-most floor but it feels like it.) Improvements that would make this place unparalleled would be these three: A true king-sized bed; curtains to block out more morning light (be prepared for bright mornings although closing the exterior shutters helps); and, more English-language TV stations (sure, we don't come to France to watch television but more choice would be a nice touch). <br/> <br/>I hate to write such a glowing review because I'm not going to stay anywhere else if this apartment is available, so if you come across this gem you will be very happy with it.

Great Location

This is a great place to call "home" while in Paris. Clair met us at the apartment and spent a few minutes telling us about the apartment and the area. She was very professional and answered all our questions promptly when we were booking the apartment. It is very convenient to the metro as there are two stations within a five minute walk. The apartment was clean and spacious. As the picture shows the view is fantastic. If we go back to Paris we would try to stay here as it had everything we needed. The is a grocery store 5 minutes. (Important to note it is not open Sundays). Lots of restaurants in the area. You could walk to all the major attractions but save your feet and take the subway. I ride on the metro is $1.60 Euro but you can buy 10 tickets at a reduced at of $11,60 Euro and you can go anywhere in the city. There is an elevator so bring on the 8th floor is not an issue if you have heavy luggage. It was a quiet area and the bed was comfortable so we had a restful sleep.

Perfect for Honeymooners

Our Host was waiting for us to arrive and quickly gave us the info we would need and just as quickly left us to our own devices , very trusting and friendly but just a phone call away if needed. The apartment was lovely and spacious and it was very homely after a long day of exploring. We became experts on the Metro and so eveything was only minutes away, loved good old Monoprix we will stay again one day Au revoir for now. The Honeymooners.

This apt was bright, impeccable and in an excellent location close to transportation, restaurants, shopping, etc. The view from the balcony was unbelieveable. during our stay we explored Paris mostly on foot which was easy to do from this location. At the end of the day it was nice to relax in the apt with a glass of wine. The owner Claire is a wonderful person who was very helpful and gracious. Highly recommed to all

We stayed in this lovely apartment in September for a fabulous week! We loved it, pure and simple. Such a perfect location - walking distance to Champs Elysee, food everywhere, glorious views, metro... the works! We became very familar with the local patisserie (perhaps too familiar...!). Everything was wonderful, we could ask for nothing more. Paris was made all the more special by staying in the little slice of every-day Paris. Highly recommended!

A Haven in Paris

My husband and I spent 5 nights in this apartment in early September. We found it just as described on the web site or better. The location was good, near metro stations, groceries, and some of the places we wanted to see. The neighborhood is relatively tourist-free and we enjoyed looking down from our balcony to see the rythm of life below: children going to school, parents rushing off to work, street cleaners, dog walkers. The apartment itself is above the level of nearby building so the large windows let in lots of light, increasing the feeling of spaciousness. The place is very well equipped and we found the two burner stove fine for the simple meals we prepared. It was great to have laundry facilities ( the machine did not mangle our clothes!) and an iron. The shower was the only one we used in France which did not require wrestling with the hand-held spray. Original art and books lent a personal touch as did Claire and her charming daughter. We hope to stay here during our next visit to Paris - it was just right.

My family and I spent one week at this tremendous aprtment. It is situated within walking distance of most major sites and a Metro stop. The apartment was clean, well cared for and the couple who rented it to us were prompt, helpful, and very friendly. The internet connection proved very useful when planning out the day's itinerary. I would recommend this apartment to any family of four or less.

Wonderful Experience

The best part of this small apartment is the location with a superior view of l'eglise St. Augustin and the rooftops of Paris. There is a small elevator which we were grateful for, being that the apartment is on the 8th floor. The 8th arrondissement is one of the best residential areas of Paris and the apartment is well placed, convenient to metro, train station and good food markets, all within easy walking distance. The area was extremely quiet, although we were there in August when half of Paris is away on vacation; in fact, the apartment building was eerily empty. The kitchen is very small and there is no stove, but we were still able to cook all our meals which we ate at a small table on a narrow balcony. The living room is adequate, and the air conditioning works well. The internet service is fast and dependable. There is also cable television providing mostly news. There is a well stocked library providing maps and tourist guides. The bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom was large by French standards, with plenty of hot water. Our only complaints/suggestions would be that the washing machine mangled and discolored some of our clothes, it would be nice if umbrellas were supplied (although it didn't rain while we were there), and it could use a few more kitchen implements, although there was most every essential item. The landlady was helpful and friendly, although we wished we had prepared a list of questions to ask her upon our arrival, but we managed to figure everything out after a day or so. The apartment provided a comfortable, relaxing haven after the bustle of the streets of Paris.

Perfect Apartment

Lovely, clean, well maintained apartment in an excellent location. <br/> <br/>We stayed for a week in July and spent our first day walking down the beautiful tree lined streets to the Seine. The apartment is well located for walking, getting the metro or the train. There are also many shops and restaurants nearby. <br/> <br/>We particularly enjoyed warm evenings on the balcony. <br/> <br/>Truly a perfect location for a visit to Paris. <br/> <br/>Thank you Claire for making us very welcome in your lovely apartment.

A wonderful apartment in a great location!

We rented this apartment in July 2009 with our two kids, ages 10 and 13. We all loved the apartment. It is in a typical Parisian building, on a quiet street, though just two blocks away from lots of activity, restaurants, and shops. The closest metro is less than 5 minutes away, with the Gare St. Lazare less than 10 minutes away. So, there are lots of metro options and it is very easy to get around Paris. The apartment is small (as is typical of most Parisian apartments) but very cozy, well-appointed, and certainly better than a hotel room. The beds were all comfortable and it was great to have separate beds for our two children. Claire, the owner, was waiting for us in the apartment when we arrived and was most helpful both before we arrived and once we were there. The bathroom is large and there was plenty of hot water and water pressure. We were very thankful that the apartment had air conditioning as Paris was experiencing a heat wave the week we were there. Under "normal" weather conditions, the breeze from the many windows would probably have cooled the apartment down enough. Claire had warned us before we booked the apartment that the elevator would not be working for the week we would be there, so we were prepared for the 8 flights of stairs we had to climb. Even without a working elevator we would highly recommend this apartment - the elevator would only be a bonus. Thanks Claire for a wonderful apartment and for helping to make our stay in Paris so memorable.

Perfect Paris Starting Point, There and Everywhere

The description of the apartment is accurate and more. A welcome surprise was that the bathroom is big. To sum it up, we were well pleased. <br/> <br/>It was a bonding trip for three sisters. One sister brought along her 6-year old. The apt was perfect for our group who can all move around freely (with consideration, of course) ... passing the bedroom for the bathroom inside the bedroom, puttering in the kitchen, and using the 2 sleeping beds in the living room as sofas for hanging out. We did not need much privacy, so it was like a slumber party when we are all out in the living room. When sleep time came, it was easy because the apt was so quiet and the beds comfortable. <br/> <br/>The view at night was stunning, of course. We enjoyed great sunny weather, so in the morning, the sunlight coming into our "penthouse" was just glorious. We liked to think we were in a penthouse because we were at the top, which kept the apt private ... no need to close curtains although the apt was wrapped in balcony separated by glass picture-windows/doors. <br/> <br/>The location is superb for exploring the city leisurely. If we do not feel like going far for the day, we have everything within walking distance. The Monoprix is so close, convenient for basic or emergency items to bring into the apt (grocery items, toiletries, a scarf, etc). Going to the major department stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps is very convenient. If you shopped too much and prefer not to walk back with the load, taxi is only 5 euros (avoid rush hour). Specialty shopping is also easy walking. Cafes and restaurants are around the corner. There is a small playground by the apt and many major parks nearby to balance a traveling child's enjoyment. <br/> <br/>If you're ready to explore all of Paris, the metros are close by. The hub point for the Open Bus/Boat Tour is also easy walking distance from the apt. I always think the bus tour is a good first thing to do because one gets to see the main tourist spots and neighborhoods, and then pick what to explore more thoroughly. <br/> <br/>If you want to do touristy or upscale activities on a first visit, this apt is perfect headquarters. If you prefer to do the local scene, you can then choose what to experience without being limited to a specific neighborhood. Marais? St-Germaine-des-Pres? Montmartre? You may not wake up to the sounds of an open market at this chic 8th, but any more local-flavored neighborhood is just a metro ride away for a day's exploring. Stay and start here!

A wonderful, welcome break in the heart of Paris

This was our first trip to Paris and we feel really fortunate to have found such a wonderful place to stay. The apartment is ideally situated close to St Lazare station and everything we needed was within walking distance or a short train ride away. The apartment was delightful, nicely furnished and it had a lovely atmosphere that meant that you felt that you were staying with friends in the heart of Paris - something that you could not possibly gain from a hotel stay. Claire greeted us on our arrival and made us feel at home straightaway. We needed self catering so that we could manage a dietary requirements and this was an ideal apartment with a good, well stocked kitchen area which looked out onto the cupola of a church, particularly wonderful in the early morning and at night. This is a superb place to stay for a short break and our time here has certainly encouraged us to come back again (and again…..). Our thanks to Claire who made it all seem easy, welcoming and fun.

This charming Paris apartment is in the central 8th arrondissement, a most desirable location. It is close to some of the best shopping in Paris, lovely small galleries, the Parc Monceau and is within two minutes of St. Lazare Station if you want to take a day trip to Chartres or Versailles. Claire, the owner, is pleasant and helpful. <br/>The apartment is on an upper floor and has a balcony with very nice views of the dome of St. Augustin, the city and rooftops - perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The apartment is very quiet, day and night, and is very clean, its comfortable furniture is in very good shape, the kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of room to spread out. It also has reliable, free WiFi Internet. <br/>We stay there every time we visit Paris. For the price it's unbeatable.

We spent a most enjoyable 10 days in this apartment. The view is certainly stunning and the apartment is awash with light most of the day. We found it a very comfortable stay and were very quickly settled in. Getting around is easy - although there are lots of buses and Metro stops around - Paris is a great city to explore on foot. Leaving the apartment in almost any direction takes you to an interesting area. Around the apartment there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants. We also found the Internet connection very useful. <br/>Can't wait to go back again!

Awesome sunny location, impeccable hospitality!

My sister and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 5 days in Nov. 2008. We picked this apartment over many others because of its height (9th floor), its awesome views on the St. Augustin church, and its light and bright windows. The apartment owner's hospitality was an added touch that made our stay wonderful in every way! The apartment is full of sunlight (even on our dreary rainy Paris days) and if you plan to go to Paris in good weather, you will LOVE the balcony that overlooks the church for a glass of wine and some cheese at day's end. The beds were comfortable, the bath fully equipped including hair dryer and iron, and the apartment very very quiet. Having a washing machine was a plus for us and in warmer weather clothes could have dried handily on the large balcony. The kitchen was more than adequate for our needs, the building quiet but in a wonderfully accessible area, with two key subway lines within 5 minutes walk. What we might remember most from our visit is setting our alarms to watch the historic election returns on CNN for Obama's election! Thank you and felicitations to our hostess for her classic French hospitality!

Lovely apartment

This beats staying in a hotel any day ! It is a lovely apartment owned by a delightful couple in a chic, quiet area but close to a Metro, shops and some excellent restaurants - do try Le Carre which is about a minute away. <br/>The apartment itself is clean, very comfortable and has great views. We've stayed there twice now and it would always be our place of choice every time we visit Paris - the trouble is it is so good it is very popular.

Home from Home in the heart of Paris

My two friends and I stayed in this lovely little apartment for 3 nights in Oct. We found it charming and a perfect pied a terre in a very safe and central area of Paris. We loved the balcony especially as the weather that weekend was glorious. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment as a perfect base for visiting this beautiful city.

CHARMING PARISIAN PIED -A-TERRE

I have stayed in this charming pied-a-terre many times with my family and each time make new discoveries walking the streets of its chic neighborhood of the 8th and the neighboring foodies delight of the 17th. It is conveniently located near the St Augustine metro stop and several bus stops are a street or two away. The Parc Monceau, perhaps one of the most beautiful parks in the word is also within walking distance. <br/> The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and quite comfortable. The terrace offers a perfect "Parisian view" and there is a shelf of books in all languages if you decide to stay in for a morning -or the day- with groceries you can purchase at various shop options you have also within walking distance. <br/> The owner, and her lovely daughters --all three, gracious and knowledgeable--are above and beyond helpful. <br/> My only reservation in rating this property a 5 is that it will be booked when I wish to return! It is by far one of my favorite places to stay in Paris.

Thanks Claire, We had a great time in your apartment in Paris during Roland Garros. It was great to meet you on arrival to find out how everything worked. <br/>The apartment is very convenient for the metro , department stores and fabulous restaurants. Fantastic apartment

We stayed here in September 2007 and absolutely loved it. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean in what seems to be a beautifully maintained fin-de-siecle building with a lift. You really feel like you are a true Parisian living here! <br/> <br/>The wireless internet was great to have and the small kitchen was great for preparing breakfast. The sofa was very comfortable as were the beds. The balcony offers amazing views, day and night, over the city and is great for having breakfast or a glass of wine on! <br/> <br/>The location is great, right beside St Augustin metro station. You are approximately 10/15 minutes walk from Galeries Lafayette and many other fantastic attractions. The Roissy bus goes from down there too. When I come back to Paris again, I wouldn't even look elsewhere for a place to stay. Claire and her daughter are very friendly and helpful too. <br/> <br/>I couldn't recommend this place more! thanks guys! <br/>Dave & Martin

True Paris Experience

This apartment was fabulous! It happened to be available during our timeframe (1 week) due to a last minute cancellation. We booked it immediately. Located in the 8th arrondissement away from tourist areas, you are truly in a Paris neighborhood. Yet, only 4-5 blocks away you are at the Galleries Lafayette, Printemps, and Paris Opera House (where we caught the Roissey bus back to the airport). Another 3-4 blocks past the Opera and you are at the Place Vendome. Metro stop "St.Augustin" is only 2 blocks away. Another metro stop "Europe" is about 3 blocks away (a bit uphill). Piece of advice: when leaving in the morning take the St. Augustin metro (walking slightly downhill to the station) and when returning, get off at Europe metro stop and walk back to the apartment downhill all the way from the station. The owner, Claire, was marvelous, helpful, and very friendly. There were 4 of us (my sister and her husband who used the bedroom) and my son and I (each of us had a separate futon in the living area). Plenty of room for all. Place was clean and neat when we arrived and Claire was waiting for us. There is a balcony with small table and couple of chairs. And the view is incredible - just like the photo. Kitchen is fully equipped with stovetop, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Bathroom is large. Lots of light comes in because there are 3 sets of ceiling to floor windows in the living room and kitchen that open to the balcony. Building has great security also. If you want to experience living like a native Parisien, rent this apartment. Communication with Claire was excellent. She's very responsive and easy to communicate with. We had an incredible experience and we highly recommend this apartment.

Lovely apartment. Bright and airy with great view. Very convenient for Metro, shops and many restaurants nearby. No hesitation in recommending it.

the apartment is 100% as it's described. <br/>in a convenient location, close to supermarkets, bus stops,metro and plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. <br/>Yet in a quiet neighborhood. <br/> <br/>We really enjoyed our stay and the owner is very helpful and friendly. <br/> <br/>Perfect for 2 people!

Perfect Paris Apartment

I visit Paris every year and have rented many apartments, this by far was the best! Location! Location! Convenient to buses, metro, shopping and being a painter I loved the view from the balcony.The owner (Claire) was most accomadating. I will certainly return next year.

Waking up with sunshine in the morning!

What do you expect from your holidays? <br/> <br/>Waking up with sunshine in the morning? <br/>Bakery, coffee bar and supermarket nearby? <br/>A nice, calm and clean apartment in the center of Paris? <br/>Breakfast on the balcony, with the view over Paris? <br/>Most of the tourist attractions in walking distance? <br/> <br/>So we can assure: here you are right! <br/> <br/>Claire provides you with a nice apartment, which seems to be much bigger than 40m². In the kitchen we found adequate equipment, also a little stock of groceries. For further essential goods there is a supermarket “round the corner”. <br/>We rented the apartment for one week and we were very pleased, Only one point - it’s a pity, the Eiffel-tower hides behind the opposite church (which doesn’t make noise at all!). <br/>As we explored Paris mostly on foot, we were glad to get up in the 8th floor by elevator, fall in the comfortable king size bed after a long day with many unforgettable impressions of Paris. <br/>We are looking forward to our next visit . . .

Convenient for everything

A very comfortable apartment in the centre of Paris a few minutes walk from the St. Augustin metro. Plenty of bars, restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Comfortable Queen-size bed with ensuite bath/shower. Good lighting for reading was very welcome. A small balcony with table and 2 chairs for evening aperitifs and/or breakfast with a view of Paris. Might be a bit cramped/awkward for more than 2 (only toilet off bedroom) but perfect for 2. Owner very helpful and friendly. All in all 100% better and less expensive than a cramped Paris hotel room. We shall return!

My husband and I spent a long weekend staying at this apartment in Paris. Before we went we spent a while researching apartments and found this to be good value for money. We were not disappointed, the apartment was larger and more luxurious than we expected, very clean, had great views over Paris and of the Church opposite and Claire (the owener) was very helpful and welcoming. We rarely used the very efficient underground system as we were able to walk to many of the main tourist attractions. Within a few minutes walk we also had a supermarket, bakery, brassaries and bars. Renting this apartment made our holiday special and I have fond memories of opening out the french doors, looking out over Paris, eating good food from the markets and drinking wine.

The apartment is situated in an excellent location in that everything one can need is located within walking distance, and it is also located very close to several metro stations so getting anywhere in Paris is easily possible. For example, Champs Elysees, the Arch de Triomphe, La Fayette, and the Opera are all within walking distance. Moreover, the inside of the apartment is immaculately clean and all the amenities one can need are available. This apartment truly is a tranquil place where one can relax and even visually enjoy the beautiful city of Paris right from the terrace that surrounds the whole apartment. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is considering a visit to Paris. Thanks Claire for your unprecendented welcome and kindness. Ciao.'
