Unforgettable Vacation in Barcelona

A / W   Brazil.
Date Submitted: September 14, 2009   Date of Stay: July 2009
We were in Barcelona at Paseo de Gracia appartment for one week last July, and had the most wonderful vacation! The location could not be better, every facility just down the stairs, the appartment is very comfortable and we found it in perfect conditions. Mr. Murio was very friendly and corteous at all times. The only thing we regreat was not staying longer... Barcelona is a wonderful city, and 2 weeks would be perfect! We highly recommend this appartment for those who want to stay "at home" in Barcelona.

Girls Trip to Barcelona!

Date Submitted: September 13, 2009   Date of Stay: August 2009
My girlfriends and I stayed In the fabulous apt on Paseo de Gracia and loved it!!! It was centrally located, right next to a metro stop, was very clean and close to great restaurants and shopping.

It was well equipped with everything you need if you want to cook for an evening in AND had a washer and dryer in the case you needed to do a little laundry (which we did since we carried on and recycled a total of 4 outfits!) or have an emergency!

We loved it and would definitely recommend and stay there again in the case that we go back to Barcelona!!

Great location and Great Property

John & Diana   Victoria, BC, Canada.
Date Submitted: July 17, 2009   Date of Stay: June 2009
My husband and I along with our 2 daughters stayed in this apartment June 2009 for 5 nights. We found it be very clean and well supplied. It is furnished and decorated in the manner of a 5 star property. It is ideally located for those who want to stay in the heart of Barcelona and visit the most prominent sites. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and if we visit Barcelona again would book here again.

what a great apartment!

The apartment is exactly as advertised. Ignacio was a very gracious host. The location could not possibly be better for discovering Barcelona, with a Metro stop 20 paces from the front door and Playa Catalunya 2 blocks away. The apartment was very clean, very safe, and in a beautiful building.

Perfection in Barcelona!

Ideal location, charming and incredibly accommodating proprietor and a gorgeous apartment....all at a very reasonable price. What more could a touring family of 4 ask for?

Ignacio was incredibly helpful from my initial email contact through to our departure. The city of Barcelona (and beyond) was more wonderful than we could have imagined - and so easily accessed from the well appointed and perfectly situated apartment.

We'd recommend it to anyone. Go and enjoy!

The closest you can get...

Christine&Hans   Den Bosch, The Netherlands.
Date Submitted: May 03, 2009   Date of Stay: April 2009
This apartment is the closest you can get to the heart of Barcelona. Opposite the metro, you are connected to all the important sights. For food and household necessities the Corte Ingles supermarket is 5 minutes walking distance away, numerous bars and restaurants are within reach and (window) shopping can start next to your door. For breakfast you can either enjoy a self prepared Nespresso (worth to visit the flagship store for capsules close by) in the apartment or have your coffee in one of the busy bars around the corner, Catalonian flair and lifestyle studies included free of charge.
The apartment is well equiped (bed linnen, towels, kitchen utensils, ...), spacious, floated with sunlight and very clean. Ending the day with a good Rioja will help you to close your ears against the sound of a nice city which never sleeps. We (two grown ups with their 4,5 year old daughter and her grandma) will for sure enjoy Ignacio's hospitality as soon as possible again soon!

Great Apt. in the Heart of Barcelona

Amyvan   Geneva, Switzerland.
Date Submitted: April 23, 2009   Date of Stay: April 2009
We spent 4 days with our two daughters in Barcelona during the Easter holiday. We took the train straight to Passeig de Gracia and only had to walk a few blocks to the apt. Ignacio was extremely helpful before and during our stay. The apartment is in a great area - walking distance to everything and also on most of the bus lines and metro. The apt. is well equiped - even has an iPod docker and a Nespresso machine. We highly recommend the two bedroom apt.

Great place to stay in Barcelona

bryansocal   southern california.
Date Submitted: April 16, 2009   Date of Stay: March 2009
This is a beautiful apartment, the pictures are accurate. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely equipped, everything seemed brand new! It is a great building, and in a great location.

It is right in front of a metro station that has 3 lines it. It is just a few minute walk to the top of La Ramblas, and the Gothic neighborhood. There are countless shops and restaurants in the area.

The apartment has a nice balcony from the living room and master bedroom. It is a busy and noisy street. It is a major street with lots of traffic. Closing the shutters and windows blocked most of it out, but if you have the doors open it can be pretty loud.

I would recommend the place to anyone going to Barcelona. We had 2 kids, 10 and 8, and they had no problems in the second bedroom. It might be be little tight for two adults.

When we arrived the place was clean and ready to go. The owner was very helpful, and speaks perfect english. He gave us a very complete tour of the apartment, including how to use the various appliances, and had lots of tips and advice for our stay.

We had absolutely no problems with the apartment at all. If you are considering a stay in Barcelona an apartment like this is sooo much better than a hotel. There isn't even a comparison.

Perfect apartment, perfect location, perfect host

andyfromboston   Boston, MA.
Date Submitted: April 09, 2009   Date of Stay: March 2009
My wife, two sons (3 & 5) and I rented this apartment along with my sister and a couple friends. It slept the seven of us easily and comfortably. The owner is easygoing, friendly, helpful and speaks perfect English. You basically can't have a more central location in Barcelona. The kitchen is well-equipped. The beds are comfortable, with nice linens. It is very clean. There is a nice TV.

We ended up having a very rainy week (by Barcelona standards). With two young and active boys, I can't tell you how nice it was to have a nice place to come home to. A hotel room would have been a challenge, to say the least.

In other words, the apartment met or exceeded our expectations in every way. Don't take a risk with your vacation, rent this place!

Perfection at PG15

Just the Best!   Memphis, TN USA.
Date Submitted: April 03, 2009   Date of Stay: March 2009
We were so fortunate to find this apartment as my wife, daughter and I came to Barcelona to visit our son, who is studying there.

Day after day we would be coming home to the apartment and I would look up at the balcony and smile, knowing everything there was brand new and spotless. It was fun to go into the marble lobby right on majestic Passeo de Gracia and into our great apartment. Our son brought some friends by and they could not believe it!

Ignacio was such a good and gracious host, and much to our relief, speaks perfect english. We came a long way to Barcelona and it was nice to find him there waiting to welcome us, I will always remember that.

Everything the reviewers say about the location is absolutely true, our favorite restaurant, Ciutat Comtal, is right around the corner and a great place to eat outside at night. The metro station and taxi stand is right in front, fabulous shopping all around us. In short, absolutley nothing but good, if you are fortunate enough to find this apartment, good for you. We looked at the apartment next door and it was beautiful, just bigger.

Thanks again, Ignacio - it was all the very best.

FANTASTIC

Mrs.MomRN   Albuquerque NM USA.
Date Submitted: April 01, 2009   Date of Stay: February 2009
This was the best, amazing apartment we ever seen. So spacious and beautiful, with all the modern convienences, we couldn't have been more happy. The apartment itself was super clean with 3 bedrooms & 2 full baths. It was perfect for our family and nanny. Our boys (2 & 4 yrs old who made themselves at home right away) enjoyed their own bedroom and beds. We had a full kitchen with table and chairs, including a high chair + a dinning set. But best of all is; we felt like we were staying in a palace apartment with the best location. The subway entrance is right at our front door. We had a stepout balcony to view all the excitment of Paseo de Gracia with the lovely shops and restaurants. We walked to the grocery store and stocked up on supplies, only a block and a half away in the basement of Corte De Ingles Department store using the grocery cart supplied in the apartment. Ignacio the caretaker is WONDERFUL and thinks of everything. McDonalds is a block away in the opposite direction and the Obama British Africa bar around the corner was a great place for me and my husband to unwind at the end of the day. There is so much more accessible from this great location (Gaudi Apartments with in 2-3 blocks) But the apartment is the real Gem. For the same price in New York, you would be lucky if you can get a hotel room the size of a walk-in closet with only a bed, TV, and bathroom. If we ever find ourselves in Barcelona again, this will be the ONLY place we will stay. Hopefully it will be available. Book Early!

Exactly as promised

April from Lancaster, PA   United States.
Date Submitted: April 01, 2009   Date of Stay: March 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay in the 3 bedroom apartment and could not recommend it more highly. All amenities were as promised and photos are very accurate. The unit is very spacious, clean, good mattresses, crisp linens, fluffy towels, fully equipped kitchen, etc.

The Eixample area is very gracious and lovely. The location could not be better. This was our first trip to Barcelona and after exploring other areas of the city, I was very pleased to have our lodging here as you are centrally located yet it has more of a neighborhood feeling about it. We were within short walking distance of most everything and when needed, the metro station was right out the front door (we felt safe at all hours).

Ignacio met us on arrival and saw us off as we left. He was extremely responsive with quick email responses to my many questions, and helpful with suggestions. Many thanks, Ignacio!

The elevator came in handy for moving luggage in and out but we used the stairs for coming and going. Expect some street noise in the front, master bedroom but nothing beyond what you'd expect in a city environment. The other bedrooms are very quiet and get quite dark at night. We took advantage of the free WiFi access and large flat-screen TV offers many channels. The only mystery was using the combo washer/dryer unit. It is not unlike those I've encountered in other European apartments, but very different than what we're used to in the states. Frankly, I did not go on vacation to do laundry so for the few things I needed it was not an issue.

This apartment was ideal for 2 adults and a college student. It's spacious and immaculate with wonderful balconies looking over the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. The location is perfect. One can get anywhere by foot, metro or taxi quickly. Our host, Ignacio, was helpful and thoughtful in every way. We loved having a full-sized refrigetor and coming back for breaks. We really felt like locals during our stay. Book it! Believe me, you won't regret it!

A celebration in BCN

teenager at heart   North Cotswolds.
Date Submitted: February 13, 2009   Date of Stay: January 2009
We stayed at apartment 2A in February 2009 for a week to celebrate my 50th birthday.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of things on the wonderful Paseo de Gracia. The apartment is very convenient for all the sights, just a short step away from Placa Catalunya - the heart of Barcelona!

There are loads of markets within walking distance and a couple of supermarkets.

The flat is furnished in a modern and minimal style and was lovely and clean.

Ignacio, our host was extremely helpful and had ensured that there were plenty of useful guide books. The map on the kitchen wall and the list of recommended restaurants and places to visit were especially useful. We did the lot!!

The location is excellent. the decor modern and relaxing and the owner friendly and helpful. The only thing to let us down was the weather- wet, but hell, you can't have everything.

We took a peek at the larger apartment which is also fantastic and slightly more luxurious but looked brilliant. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Our Wonderful Stay!

What can one say when the reality is so much more than one has a right to expect. Everything and I mean everything was beyond the description given, beautiful with the upkeep to match, location second to none, and a total joy for our family of five to call home for a week. In the center of all that is wonderful, the care and hospitality shown will be difficult to match in our future travels. Barcelona is a gem, and these living quarters will help greatly in your comfort and most importantly your memories that you take home with you.

Great Location

Snazzy   Australia.
Date Submitted: October 06, 2008   Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent a week in the apartment and it was perfect for us with 2 young children. The apartment was very modern and clean, very tastfully decorated in a beautiful building and with a grand foyer, balconies and views of the street. It was fully equiped with all the appliances, we made good use of the washer and dryer. The best thing was the location which was central to all the sights and restaurants. It is block from the tourist bus and the metro station was right outside the door, although we walked or took short inexpensive taxi trips too most places. I also loved the large spa bath that was excellent after a day of pounding the pavements. We were worried about street noise but this was minimal with the windows and shutters shut. We have already recommended the apartment to our friends who will be staying there in the near future. The only minor flaw was that the DVD player was abit tempremental and didn't work with all of our kids DVD's.

Beautiful and Centrally Located Apartment

Date Submitted: September 03, 2008   Date of Stay: July 2008
We were fortunate to stay in this property for three days. The pictures and description were very accurate and we were pleased with the amenties and location. Ignacio met us the first day and was most helpful in explaining the apartment amenities and the overall layout of Barcelona. This location is prime. It is very centrally located and within walking distance to everything. We shopped in the great shops on Paseo de Gracia, walked to Plaza Catalunya (just down the block), El Borne, Las Ramblas, Gothic area etc. I would recommend the hop on hop off bus tours to give you a good idea of the layout of Barcelona. We were there in July and they were unfortunately remodeling one floor below so it was quite noisy. Just be sure there is no remodeling going on when you book. It was very hard to sleep in past 7:00 a.m. Other than that it was an excellent stay and we would highly recommend to anyone. Around the corner there is a fantastic Tapas restaurant. Make sure to ask Ignacio for the name.

Owners Response: Thank you for your review, I believe it helps other guests benefit from your experience and advice. The remodeling one floor below us is finally finished. So there's no more noise, rest assured. We hope to see you again soon!

We had the most wonderful time on our visit to Barcelona and our stay at the pg15 apartment. Ignacio was a most gracious host and very patient with our endless questions.

The apartment was perfect for our family and the location could not have been better. Just a fascinating city and we were in the heart of the activities. I would recommend as excellent for families, couples, business travelers and anyone wanting to be in the center of it all!
