We stayed in the "Barn" for two nights in April for a surfing weekend in Croyde. We were delighted with the house throughout, which was easily able to accommodate our group of six twenty-somethings. Everything from the advert rung true for us.

Having stayed in a few other places nearby, the standard of the Barn was very high; well finished, maintained and very clean. We couldn't believe our luck when we walked in the door!

The location was ideal for us, easily within walking distance to the beach, shops and pubs. There was also plenty of parking.

Certainly our first choice for our next trip!

Lovely Cottage, great location

Spacious cottage which comfortably sleeps 6 (we had a baby as well). Inside is very spacious with 3 double rooms. Good sized living room and huge kitchen - the pictures don't do it justice.

Externally there is a large table that seats 6 plus a somewhat hidden garden - perfect for nature lovers. All of a 1 minute walk to Billy Buds so location is also very good.

The space is very good inside and out so would recommend at any time of year. Internally is finished to a high quality as well.

For larger groups it's worth bearing in mind that you can link up the farmhouse and the barn which both sleep 6. Plus the smaller two properties are linked to the larger properties via the gardens so you can accommodate 18 people if required.

The beach is just around the corner but with the comfort of the cottage we ended up staying there most of the time with some walks in the evening.

We'll definitely be back and would recommend to all.

Victoria Cottage

A wonderful week. Victoria Cottage had everything you need and more - a real home from home. Beautiful. Mike and I had a truly restful time although shame about the weather as the courtyard would have made a lovely suntrap. Restaurants and all facilities just a few minutes walk and the 'Thatch Pub' was excellent value for money and really good food. We hope to return when the weather is better - or not! It was just a little piece of heaven in this hectic world. I do hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

Weekend in Croyde

Lucky 7 Evesham, England.
Date Submitted: March 12, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Our family stayed in Croyde Cottage for a long weekend in March, 2 adults and 4 children. The cottage was beautiful, very homely but spacious. Fantastic location, right in the heart of the village. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped, easy to cook a large family meal. The property was very clean and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed having a log fire! We have visited Croyde many, many times, and go there for relaxing weekends and proper "family" time which always includes walks on the beach, ice-creams and Sunday lunch at the pub! This is probably the best property we have stayed in, in Croyde, and we will definately be back!

Owners Response: Croyde is a great place for a family holiday or weekend away. It has lovely beaches and country walks through beautiful National Trust countryside. All we have to do is provide comfortable and, we hope, stylish accommodation to give our guests a great getaway at any time of year!

Comfortable in Croyde

golden sunset Surbiton, Surrey, UK.

Croyde Cottage is conveniently located just yards from the pretty village centre which hosts a number of pubs and basic amenities. Croyde beach is within easy driving distance or a short walk of 10-15 minutes. There are some wonderful coastal walks in the area.

We stayed at The Farmhouse during September 08 with 5 adults (including 2 seniors) and 2 babies. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished to a good modern standard.

The cottage easily accommodated us all, consisting of a double bedroom and two twin rooms. The double bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room, whilst the other two bedrooms share a nice sized main bathroom.

Best of all is the large, cosy and well equipped live in kitchen. The ground floor also benefits from a comfortable living room with a real open fire, flat screen TV and DVD player and there is also a further small summer room which looks out onto the pretty garden and patio which was delightful to use with the weather as good as it was.

The owners were extremely responsive and helpful, recommending a local hire supplier of travel cots and high chairs who were able to deliver and set up the cots in advance the day we arrived.

Croyde itself has basic amenities (pubs, post office/basic general store, surf gear stores). Braunton is a 10 minute drive away and offers a greater level of choice of shops. We did an on-line shop with Tesco the day before we arrived which was delivered on-time the afternoon we arrived which was great.

We are confident we will be trying to book The Farmhouse again at somepoint in the future.

Weekend birthday break - October 2008

Very impressed with this lovely cottage. We were a group of 6 adults on a weekend break for a 40th birthday. The cottage was well equiped and very comfortable. We arrived late on the Friday night and the wine bar in the village was very accommodating and kepted the kitchen open to feed us all! Also the pub was very pleasant and snack food good. The garden of the cottage looked like a lovely place to sit and relax/eat in the summer. We spent the Saturday morning 'Coasteering' with EBO Adventure which was fantastic, so relaxing in front of the open fire in the evening was a perfect end to a wet and chilly day! Many thanks.

Victoria cottage was delightful. Spotlessly clean, very comfortably furnished, immaculately presented and had every home comfort you could wish for and more. The location was fantastic, quiet but within walking distance to Croyde village and the beach. The owners were lovely people and we would definitely use the cottage again.
10/10

Fantastic Holiday Cottage

Date Submitted: September 15, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Wonderfully cottage, which has been tastefully refurbished with all the facilities you would want for an enjoyable and restful holiday. Good layout and storage facilities, clean and well maintained. We have visited the Farmhouse twice and would love to go again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Very convenient for both beach and village, wonderful pubs and restaurants within 5 minute walk, we have tried them all and not had a bad meal. Very convenient for walking and also other attractions at Barnstaple. Go on spoil yourself - you will want to go back again!
