My visit to Tickeridge Farm

Wotapickle   Berkshire.
Date Submitted: September 15, 2009   Date of Stay: August 2009
Great place in a great location. Good local pub. Croquet set out on the lawn was fun. Owner was most helpful, including sorting an additional linen/towel change for a midweek change of guests. Recommended for a family/friends get together.

Owners Response: Thank you for your comments. Delighted you so enjoyed everything at Tickeridge Farm. Glad the croquet was fun on the 'rolling' lawn and that you liked the local pub.

Lovely house, gorgeous kitchen, clean, bright and spacious. We had a fab time and would thoroughly recommend it. The pub in the village is good too.

A really good place for a week away in some beautiful countryside.

Tickeridge Farm June 2009

We had a wonderful stay at Tickeridge Farm for a long weekend. The gardens are wonderful with plenty of space for everybody - the kids loved running around and feeding the horses. The garden is beautifully kept. The house is fantastic - lots of different areas for us all to spread out and relax and more than enough room in the main kitchen / dining area for us all to eat together. We loved the kitchen. The place was great for the two toddlers in the group who could run / crawl around indoors and out with no worries. Don't be put off by the bunk beds in 2 of the rooms. The rooms have plenty of space and the beds are large and comfortable. The weekend could not have been easier to book and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. The local village is a 15-minute walk but a very easy and pretty walk. Recommend the local pub (Hanley Swan) who were very accomodating to our large group and their climbing frame was great. A beautiful part of the country and the perfect place for a large group to get together. We really hope to be back.

Family get together

nobody at all   lancashire.
Date Submitted: July 11, 2009   Date of Stay: July 2009
The house was exactly as described and expected. A beautiful house in a lovely part of the countryside near Malvern.
Everything that we could possibly want from a self-catering point of view was supplied and there was no shortage of anything.
The kitchen diner was ideal for family breakfast or just sitting round the large table for a coffee.
The garden was great for a few rounds of croquet that we really enjoyed (although the grass could have been shorter!)
The bunk beds were a problem as we were all couples but we knew this before we went. Feel that an extra bedroom has been added (or needs to be taken away) to increase rental income at the expense of comfort.

The one down side (and we are very particular about this) was that the house was not clean. Tidy yes and superficially clean but especially the bathrooms and kitchen cupboards were not acceptably clean. Get this right and the house would be absolutely perfect.
A stag party or hen party would be oblivious but my wife and daughter do not go anywhere without their Domestos and Toilet Duck!

Girls weekend away June 09

nat   London.
Date Submitted: June 12, 2009   Date of Stay: June 2009
When we saw the photos of the cottage on the internet we were excited but the actually cottage blew us away. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and furnished really nicely. There is a huge gorgeous kitchen and really lovely lounge/TV area. All of the bedrooms are lovely and so are the bathrooms. Brilliant showers. The cottage has everything you could need and the owners have kitted it out really well so that you have ample amounts of everything - no mean allocation of 9 forks, 9 glasses, 9 plates etc like some rental properties are. Garden fab and paddock next door with horses. We were a group of girls away for the weekend, but the cottage would also be ideal for a couple of families holidaying together. I will definitely go back to Tickeridge farm

Family weekend in the Malverns

We had a great time staying at Tickeridge. It's a lovely house with nothing but fields to see around you, a nice change for a Londoner!
The kids enjoyed feeding the horses that come up to the garden fence and the croquet set was a great hit amongst all of us.
Even the weather put on a fine display for the weekend.
You must try the local butchers that the owner recommended to us - simply the best pork pies I've ever tasted!
All in all a great break in a great place.

I saw Tickeridge on the internet and thought 'that looks like a nice place for a holiday'. When we arrived, the cottage was even lovelier than we'd imagined! Loads of room and space for all of us and all our stuff to spread out in, lots of places to sit and relax and a kitchen stocked with all you could possible need to make our stay just perfect! I am already trying to work out when we can go back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were a group of 6 adults and we had a terrific Easter weekend at Tickeridge Farm. Dugald, the Owner, was a great help before, during and after. The property itself was spotless, had really comfortable beds, large modern bathrooms, a great fireplace but best of all was the kitchen. Tons of space, lots of comfortable seating and a useful iPod docking station-- we spent a lot of time in there when not outside playing cricket!

Everyone loved the horses on the adjacent field. We did lots of walks around the countryside and Hanley Swan is a sweet village that is a short drive to all the shops you would need.

We would all highly recommend Tickeridge Farm for a holiday to anyone!

Annual Girls Weekend - perfect

Vicki, Jo, Heather, Helen, Ruth, Felicity, Cecilia and Mariele   Farnham, Surrey.
Date Submitted: February 26, 2009   Date of Stay: January 2009
This must be our 10th Annual Girls weekend and over the years we have visited houses in all shapes and sizes. We are also quite particular with our requirements and know exactly what suits us and what we do and don't like. Well, Tickeridge Farm ticked all the boxes and got the thumbs up from all eight of us. Quite a feat.

It was better than we all imagined, although the pictures were pretty accurate, the kitchen was great and very well equipped. The house was VERY clean and the decor was simple and pleasing - nothing too fussy. It was warm and the wood burner and fire were lovely with a good supply of logs.

The power showers were excellent and there was a good supply of hot water.

The owner was very easy to deal with and responded quickly to E mails so it was very easy to organise. We appreciated the champagne and the phone call on our first night to make sure that all was well. We also enjoyed being able to walk to the village pub.

All in all a great success and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Fantastic Property in rural location

ches   Devon.
Date Submitted: November 13, 2008   Date of Stay: November 2008
We stayed here for my husband's 40th birthday celebrations. As we live in Devon and his family live in Manchester it was the ideal place to stay for a weekend. The property is very well equiped and there is plenty of space - there were 12 of us!!

Having six children between two familes aged between 18 months and 8 years old we didn't get to visit the local pub only to feed the ducks nearby at the village pond. The town of Great Malvern had some lovely individual shops and if you need some food shopping there is Waitrose or Somerfield.

We would highly recommend!!!

Fantastic Family reunion

Date Submitted: November 02, 2008   Date of Stay: October 2008
The whole family (from 15months to 61 years) enjoyed a lovely weekend at Tickeridge Farm. The property is in a super position, the garden is safe and child-friendly and everything we could possibly require was provided. The house was warm, clean and welcoming. The local pub is super for lunches and evening meals and the folder of information from the owner is very comprehensive. Our only regret was that our stay was too short to really enjoy the surrounding area and its potential for walking and visiting. The owner and the care-taker were very help-ful and efficient.

Tickeridge Farm Cottage was the perfect venue for a gathering of old college friends. 8 Adults enjoyed a splendid weekend at this perfect cottage very near to Malvern. Decor was excellent, bathrooms aplenty and a very large kitchen diner room that we hardly ventured out of for breakfast and evening meals. Location was beautiful and plenty of opportunity for good walks over the Malvern Hills with many local activities to explore and buy things from. Marvellous. Would recommend it to anyone.

This is truely 'ideally suited for family holidays and getting together with friends' - the description is spot on.
Property was v clean and there was butter, wine, bread, champagne etc all provided, as well as linen, towels and loo roll!
We visited sudely castle which was quiet and lovely and walked up one of the Malvern Hills which was v beautiful.
Def recommended

Our Weekend at Tickeridge Farm

Date Submitted: March 04, 2008   Date of Stay: February 2008
What a magnificent place the farm is!
Clean, spacious and so well equipped.
We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our family get together.
And to have the Malvern Hills as a back-drop made it all the more worthwhile.

It will certainly remain on our list of favourite places to go.

We have just returned from our great weekend away at Tickeridge Farm. The property is in a rural location with great views of the surrounding country side from all windows. Though the buiding is old, inside is warm, clean and with new bathrooms and a huge new kitchen. We had two families and grandparents so spent a lot of the time sat round the large kitchen table, eating, drinking and being kept amused by 2 toddlers. Great local pub within walking distance and Malvern not far away for Chines take away and a Sunday morning swim. Would highly recommend it for a stay, owners are very friendly and helpful with ready tips on local info. I'm sure we will return for another stay.

The area is very beautiful with lots of walks around Malvern, Hanley Swan is a nice village with a good pub and a couple of small shops .Within a couple of miles their are some nice pubs ,a couple of good takeaway and a choice of restuarants.

A Cottage with a WOW Factor !

Sprague   Lincolnshire.
Date Submitted: January 08, 2008   Date of Stay: January 2008
As we opened the door we all went "wow" it's gorgeous!! We instantly felt at home and relaxed, there was even a bottle of champagne waiting us in the fridge, which was a very nice touch. The whole cottage has been beautifully renovated with many charming period features. The main living area was very spacious and enabled Adults and children to have their own space!!

Kitchen was perfect and very well equipped- great table! All open plan with the many windows making it lovely and bright - a place you will want to congregate in!

Upstairs all rooms were delightful and again very tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the cottage. 2 lovely big bathrooms ideal for families and like us, children with additional needs.

A really quiet location - a great walk in every direction but also a big enough garden for the children to explore with ponies to pat!

All in all a Fabulous cottage - that has it all and not to be missed! Perfect for romantic couples/ familes needing a break or groups with a party in mind!!
