A fabulous, friendly and relaxing place to stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cottage. It worked superbly well for our very mixed family group. This included 4 teenage girls, my brother and sister in law, myself and my husband and Molly the Labrador! My husband had his 50th birthday and my daughter had her 15th birthday. The house allowed us all space to be together to celebrate but also space to chill separately. The location was perfect too.
We would fully recommend the house to our friends and would love to come back!

Bryn Goleu Cottage, Abersoch

Excellent rural property in secluded location but still within close proximity to Abersoch and surrounding area. Property was finished to a very high standard but still retained it's character with thick walls, barn doors, large open fireplace, log burner, etc making it a very cosy and enjoyable experience.

We have just had a wonderful weekend at Bryn Goleu, it is a beautiful property and we had high hopes having seen the website, but it exceeded our expectations. It is a perfect place to wind down and relax, the views are amazing and the cottage itself if so comfortable. Would not hesitate to choose it again.

Staying at Bryn Goleu was an amazing experience, second to none. You cannot fail to be moved by the truly magnificent views and calls from the wild. We stayed for one week in late August 2011/early Sept. The weather was grand, the beaches to die for, especially Whistling sands (Porth Or).

If you are not adventurous and like staying put then say no more Bryn Goleu is for you, amazing accommodation, fantastic kitchen and all. We are adventurous and I can’t think of a better base to discover the Llewyn peninsula...enjoy, I know you will.

Please walk up the hill behind the house, you will regret it if you don’t....spectacular views!!!

Martin MacNamara

This amazing cottage can be found at the end of a farm track, after several miles of single track road; The inside has every comfort - state of the art kitchen, welcoming living room with wood burning stove. Every window has a view - you can take in the ever changing view - ans watch the weather change before your eyes.

You would enjoy this cottage whatever the weather outside!

We were not dissapointed when we arrived at the cottage, it was exactly like the pictures and descriptions. The actual location was far better than I imagined, we were all stunned at the scenary and enjoyed many lazy moments staring out of the kitchen window whilst sittiing around the bar. Even though the weather wasn't nice enough to sit out in the garden, we did enjoy many walks around the cottage with our dog. We all thought the rooms were very comfortable but my daughter was a big fan of the attic bedroom. We did manage to do some sight-seeing although we would have liked to have done more if the weather had been nicer. Nevermind, perhaps we will have to return next year to complete the sight-seeing!

We arrived at the cottage to find that the property is very well appointed and maintained and had everything that you could wish for. The setting is in a remote part over looking the sea on a hill which is exactly what we wanted so we could all relax (4 adults). We made good use of the BBQ as we had exceptional weather and to sit outside and wine and dine with the views was just brilliant.
Jenny was superb in dealing with us from start to finish and we would recommend visiting this beautiful cottage to anyone.

Date Submitted: October 17, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010
This is our third visit to this beautiful holiday home. We have enjoyed the experience so much the last couple of times as a family that we decided to bring our extended family. Our group included three OAPs, two 40 somethings and a 4 and 3 year old. We were blessed this visit with glorious weather. Who would have believed it in October!! Childrens spent time paddling on Abersoch beach, we visited the rabbit farm near Criccieth (which the children never get sick of and has a lovely cafe for the adults) and had a trip to Porthmadog.

The evenings were spent cooking and enjoying a lovely home cooked meal in the gorgeous kitchen (if I had one like that at home I would spend more time in it!!) and then retiring in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine (even though the weather was warm we couldn't resist as it is so inviting!!). Our boys now think that it is their own holiday home as they love it so much.

Well done and a big thank you to the owners, Mr and Mrs Jones. We can't imagine any more improvements that you can do to this property and will definitely be back again next year.

We had a super week at your cottage. It was beautifully presented with good clear guides of where to go and where to eat locally/beaches etc. It was very clean with good utilities and very comfortable lounge. We loved sitting in your kitchen just watching the birds and rabbits and looking at the view. We did a lot of walking and went jogging every morning. There were lots of places locally to explore. We visited the slate mines and went up Snowdon on the railway. It was wise to advise early booking - the Coconut restaurant was fully booked all week. Thank you. We fully rcommend this wondeful hideaway.

Our family loved this cottage. The views are truly breathtaking and if you want to 'get away from it all' then this is the place to be! The property was clean and well-maintained, and it is just a short drive to a variety of beaches. We fell in love with the kitchen, and all the rooms are a comfy size. We would recommend this cottage to our friends; it was a true delight. One recommendation: bring your sat-nav!

I booked this wonderful cottage as a birthday present for my wife.By looking at the pictures, you get a slight hint that this may be very luxurious. It far exceeds those photo's.
The cottage is warm, cosy, stylish. It's a real home from home. The facilities are of a very high standard, the bedrooms are set out beautifully, the living room is cosy, comfy and homely and the kitchen is modern and well equiped.
We went in mid-January.We walked in the local countryside. It's a lot different to being in the hustle and bustle of Merseyside.A real tranquil retreat.
We took our 7 year old son,who loved every minute of being there. We also took my Mother and Father-In-Law,who chilled out and enjoyed the burning logs on the fire and a couple of bottles of wine.
This is just a wonderful place to go,away from it all.We need to go back there very soon..............Thanks Jenny.

Gorgeous cottage in Wales

Date Submitted: December 27, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2009
I treated my wife to a week in this cottage for her 40th and earned myself lots of kudos, such is the splendid eye to detail and relaxed comfy feel. The log fired is fabulous and the sofas harder to climb out of than climbing the hill behind with its wonderous panoramic views. The cottage although bang up to date with the latest modcoms manages to retain an authentic rustic charm. The shower room has just been modernised and the shower is of top quality. This place gives serious luxury on all levels. So many reviewers have used so many superlatives and I have to say they are all accurate.

The surrounding fields are perfect for kids to whittle away the hours or good enough for some not too challenging walks. The location could not be better - the end of a country lane so total peace and tranquillty is guaranteed. In short this is the ideal place to come and forget the rat race. We loved it and so did our friends

The owners are really friendly and genuinely helpful.

Bryn Goleu was the location chosen to celebrate my 60th birthday weekend with my family. I couldn't have chosen a better property. From the minute we arrived we were all totally impressed with the cottage. The quality and finish is a credit to you both. We enjoyed the large comfy settees and the inviting log burner.
The large well equipped kitchen provided an ideal opportunity for those leisurely breakfasts.
The cottage is large and provided us with everything we could have wished for. There was ample space for us all including two very active 6yr olds.
The outside space is also ideal with ample parking on the drive alongside the cottage. The property is ideally situated for visiting the local beaches, we managed to take in Abersoch, Hells Mouth and Morfa Nefyn during our stay.
This cottage provides first class accommodation in an ideal location, with spectacular views. I would highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful autumn break at this superb property. Although there were only 4 of us it would also be perfect for a larger family getaway. Spectacular views from the cottage, in particular from the superbly appointed kitchen. Secluded location provided peace and privacy. The large settee and woodburner were perfect after a day on the beach or in the mountains. A wide range of quality restaurants in Abersoch and a fantastic Fish and Chip shop in Pwhelli. Cottage is well furnished with an excellent kitchen (second bathroom does need updating, as previous review, but not a issue has the main bathroom was great). Fantastic views. Good location, though quite isolated (a feature as far as we were concerned), for exploring Llyn Penninsular. Owners were very helpful and responded quikly to email.

Recommended for: Girls Getaway, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Age 55+

Owners Response: The second bathroom is due to be updated together with the shower room in Nov 2009 when I am sure you will agree it will truly be 5*! The cottage is rural as stated in the advert but I have to disagree with the writer as it is not isolated to explore the Llyn as it is nearly in the middle of the Penninsular and takes 10 - 15 minutes to travel to most of the popular resorts - Abersoch, Morfa Nefyn, Pwllheli, Aberdaron as has been mentioned in other reviews.

We had wonderful family holiday at Bryn Goleu. The property is spacious, clean and of a very high standard. The kitchen is a dream for cooks and special family time with high bar stools that go up and down - loved by the kids. The lounge with woodburner and the best sofa ever were a real treat in a holiday home! We climbed the mountain behind the cottage with a 3 and 2 year old and were treated to the best view we have ever seen. Lots of fab beaches within 15 mins, highly recommend Whistling Sands. Simply the Best

The T Family Surrey.
Date Submitted: July 13, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This cottage deserves all the five star reviews. We rent many cottages in Britain and France and this is one of the very best. The cottage is really beautiful and a credit to its owners - who are very helpful and delightful to deal with.

This was our second visit and this time we were able to enjoy North Wales in summer. The garden in summer is the most wonderful place to start and end the day - the wildlife, the view of the sea and the hills beneath you are picture postcard stuff.

There was so much to do and see in the area that we will certainly be back again - it is the perfect place for a family holiday offering something for everyone - from beaches to mountains - adventure playgrounds to historic castles.

I do think you need a car to make the most of the area, and when driving I recommend sticking strictly to the speed limits. There is no rush and the scenary is breath taking. We came home to a speeding fine for doing just over 30 in a 30 limit - something that everyone does where we are in South England. The North Wales police we found out later are very hot on speeding and we learnt our lesson. ;0) So drive slowly and enjoy what is bound to be a fantastic holiday. A rental property of this standard is hard to find - and hard to leave! My daughter cried again when we left. I recommend it highly and without hesitation.

We had a wonderful week-end stay at the cottage. It would have been difficult to find had it not been for the excellent directions. It is located in a lovely rural and peaceful location, surrounded by fields with spectacular views in all directions. We went with another family and were 9 people in all, and there was plenty of room for everybody. We went to 3 beaches while we were there, each one being around 15-20 min drive from the cottage (you can choose whether you go North, South, or West from the cottage - we tried all 3!). We all agreed that we would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful cottage holiday. The cottage is almost fully renovated with just the shower room and single W.C. not having been updated. Made no difference to the holiday though as the kitchen, main bathroom, bedrooms and all living areas are beautifully renovated.

Thanks for the lovely stay!

10 out of 10 - The Perfect Welsh Getaway!!!

kelstar london.
Date Submitted: January 06, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
In a nutshell - Perfect Bliss!!

Staying at Bryn Goleu was the perfect way to spend the New Yew with close friends and family – one we’ll never forget! Waking up each morning to views across Hells Mouth to the south and 360◦ of rolling countryside were just breath taking.

We were a party of 8 adults and it didn’t feel cramped what so ever! The size and layout of the cottage was perfect. The majority of the bedrooms are tucked away to the rear of the house allowing guests to continue to enjoy the log fire for as late as they wanted whilst not disturbing the early birds! The cottage has obviously been done to a very high spec especially the kitchen! That huge oven really came into play when cooking a roast dinner for eight!

Bryn Goleu cottage is also superbly situated for walking enthusiasts like us as there are reachable beaches by foot to the north, west, south and east. And as there’s no light pollution, by night the sky is scattered with stars – it was perfect for spotting an array of constellations!

The only down side I can think of was that the pictures on the Holiday Lets website did not do the cottage enough justice! It was so much bigger and prettier than we imagined - We were blown away so much that we didn’t want to leave this peaceful retreat. We are already talking about returning for New Years next year!

Myself and all other members of my party would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the owners of Bryn Goleu for creating this wonderful getaway!

5 STARS! * * * * *

Our Time At Bryn Goleu

Date Submitted: August 04, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
What an absolutely fantastic time was had by all 7 of us (all in our early 20's) when we stayed at Bryn Goleu in May 2008. Set in a picturesque area of Wales, you definately need a car to get to Bryn Goleu but the directions provided are accurate and easy to follow, we found it without a problem.
Once there you could happily stay in the cottage all week, making the most of the games and facilities provided, go exploring the local area or go to nearby Abersoch. Whilst there we also visited the Electric Mountain, climbed Mt Snowdon, chilled on Abersoch beach and had a BBQ in the garden.
Shops and amenities are all within a short drive away as is the beautiful, clean sandy beach and the local pubs and restaurants. Ideal for those who wish to relax or the adventurers alike.
The property is immaculately kept to an extremely high standard, everything you could wish for is provided. The rooms are very clean and the beds are so soft you just sink into them. Bryn Goleu has breath taking views of the coastline and surrounding hills, views that you never get bored of.
The owners are very friendly and easily contacable if there are any problems or if you just need some advice. We had one minor problem with a drain which was fixed straight away.
We were all very sad to leave but we cant wait to return next year! I can not express what a truly brilliant time we had staying at Bryn Goleu, you will not be disappointed.

A bit of heaven on earth...

Mrs T Surrey.
Date Submitted: March 12, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
Five stars. This is a peaceful and extremely comfortable retreat from the busy world we live in, and well worth the 6 hour drive from Surrey to get there.

Local people here are all so friendly and helpful. There is obviously plenty to see and do in the area, especially in high season - we visited in February and some things were shut - so we'd love to return in the summer months. However even in low season you will not be at a loss for interesting days out and the most beautiful countryside to enjoy. Besides you have the cottage to return to - and that is a real treat.

My daughter (7) cried as we left - and I don't blame her - there was a little bit of each of us that wanted to stay forever. We all recommend this cottage without any hesitation - I am certain you will adore it as much as we did. It was a joy to stay here.

Owners Response: Thank you - we have really tried to create a special retreat with everything you need for a perfect holiday. There are more plans over the coming year for further improvement so watch this space!
