This is the first time we have booked a private villa as opposed to a hotel. We normally use the accommodation as just somewhere to sleep and dump our bags! Villa Miramar changed all that though! The villa itself and the views made us want to spend more and more time relaxing by the pool or sunbathing on the terrace. As already mentioned in the other reviews the villa is very clean and couldn't be more well equipped. The owner Jan is very helpful and obviously thought of everything.
We explored most of Lanzarote and would recommend hiring a car for the holiday. With the size of the island everywhere is reachable in under 30 mins. Locally we would recommend Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada for great fresh food.
Thanks again Jan for a wonderfull holiday.

Having stayed at Jan & Colin's "old" villa in Tahiche we had no hesitation in booking our half-term week in this property. We were not disappointed; as the newly-furbished villa lived up to our expectations and was everything we expected. Lanzarote is our most-visited holiday destination and it is great to be able to arrive in the knowledge that our accomodation and the hospitalty on offer will be the best.
The villa is extremely well equipped and comfortable with really pleasant terrace and pool areas. The area is very quiet and does have a great view down to the sea so you could easily spend all day, every day, relaxing here. Unfortunately the weather let us down a bit this time around but there is enough to do on the island when you need a break from lounging. A car, in that case, is a must. Puerto Calero is lovely with the string of harbour-side restaurants and seemed as tranquil as Playa Blanca's aspect did in the past. For a bit more hustle and bustle we prefer Costa Teguise to Puerto del Carmen.
We'll almost certainly visit Lanzarote again and when we do we will book to stay in this villa if it is available. We'd certainly recommend it to our friends for it's location and facilities and for the warm and helpful welcome we always get. Jan even promised to look into sorting out wi-fi?

As regular visitors to the Lanzarote, this is without doubt the finest villa we have had the pleasure of staying at. Everything is provided here to such a high standard; all facilities are modern and luxurious, décor is charming and everything you could wish for is provided.
We had a totally relaxing time, blessed with excellent weather and were just so sorry to leave. Our holiday passed by all too quickly, which is the perfect indication of how much we enjoyed Villa Miramar. Jan and Colin are wonderful hosts – on hand when you need them but not at all intrusive. Thank you both and I am sure we will be back to visit again.
If a boisterous nightlife is important to your holiday, then this is not for you. However, if you are seeking a little piece of paradise away from the crowds with fabulous views and easy access to explore the charms of the island, then look no further.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived and met Jan who was very welcoming. Villa itself very well maintained, clean, spacious and exactly as described. The pool was clean and warm. The villa is very well situated with the Supermarket being only a 3 min drive and Matagorda beach & restaurant area, which we enjoyed, only a 5 min drive. We just wanted to chill out for the week and we certainly did that in this secluded though easily accessible villa! Many thanks again to Jan & Colin for making our stay very enjoyable.

my family and i spent 2 weeks at villa miramar and we all had a lovley and very relaxing time. the pool was great so refreshing after being in the sun. i didnt enjoy puerto del carmen ,far too noisy and touristy. puerto calero on the other hand was lovley , playa honda was also very nice quiet and chilled out, have a beer in the little bar by the beach was great. the jardin de cactus is a must for garden lovers , the jameos del agua is also well worth a visit. a car is a must then you get a real feel for the island, try climbing one of the many volcanic hills trainers or hiking boots are a must. playa blanca is also nice the weekly markets are good the food and drinks can be pricey . teguise sunday market is huge and about the only place you pay to park. the villa is beautifully appointed,it is clean and well catered for. if you need anything jan and colin the owners will look after you . i recommend this villa to anyone wanting comfort and a base to explore lanzarote.

We had a wonderful stay at this house. My wife, our 2 children and I had a wonderful holiday in Lanzarote. This luxurious house had every thing we could possibly want during our stay and it was very clean and well maintained. My 2 children loved the swimming pool. We'd come back from walks or from one of the many beaches and spend the evenings there.
Jan, the owner, is a great host.
We would certainly recommend this house to anyone.

I think the title says it all. Cannot fault the villa or the organisation that goes on behind it, especially Jan's attention to detail. A superb base for exploring Lanzarote, nice and close to the scuba diving, pool completely un overlooked. An excellent villa. Neil.

The original advertisement for this property did not do it justice! The Villa is in a lovely location with uninterrupted views. Recently refurbished, the property was very well done with great attention to detail, very well maintained and clean and tidy. Lovely pool, if a little hot sometimes, but you can't help the sun shining!! We were made to feel very welcome on arrival etc., and the hosts were helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would definitely return. A really relaxing place to come back to after shopping expeditions and sightseeing. A car is almost compulsory in a location such as this with all of the main roads to the attractions very accessible from the villa, our hosts organised a small vehicle from a local company at a very reasonable rate. As far as the attractions on Lanzarote go; Timanfaya National Park is excellent; and the Sunday maket in Teguise is an experience. The Caves did dissapoint however with little interesting information about them and quite a rushed tour. There are some lovely restaurants, if a little difficult to find, but highly recommended is La Opera in Playa Honda. I'm certain that anyone staying in Villa Miramar will have a very pleasant holiday indeed!
