Ibiza Town is split into three distinct regions. Around the harbour, the Sa Pena district of the town is dominated by the fortress, but much of the attractions here are based around the beaches of Playa d’en Bossa and Fugueretas. The old walled town, D’Alta Vila is a UNESCO world heritage site, and is filled with medieval buildings, the most impressive being the tower of the Cathedral de Santa Maria. The old town is where the best restaurants, shopping and most luxurious Ibiza holiday rentals can be found. Finally, the new city holds, Sa Penya, the location of the majority of villas in Ibiza Town.

Things to do in Ibiza Town, Spain

The clubbing season lasts from May until October, and there are two super clubs in Ibiza Town itself. Pacha and El Divino, and the infamous Space is a very popular post-Pacha venue.

The other main activity in Ibiza Town is sunbathing. The beaches of Playa d’en Bossa and Fugueretas are busy with families and bronzed bodies throughout the summer. The party beaches accessible from an Ibiza apartment or villa rental are the beaches Playa Bassa, or the nudist beach at Playa Cavallet.

Just a 30 minute boat trip from Ibiza port is Fortentera, where fishermen are far more common than DJ’s! It is a haven of well being, with natural mud baths and endless stretches of white sand.

During the first week of August, Ibiza Town’s holiday rentals are hugely popular due to the festivals of Holy Mary and Sant Ciriac, filling the streets with parades and fireworks. The Ibiza Jazz Festival, a five day celebration of jazz, occurs at the end of July.
