Bodrum is a fantastic place to come during the fall, winter and spring. There are less tourists. The restaurants have the freshest wild fish from the sea and best vegetables you could ever imagine. During this entire season you can find days where one can sit OUTSIDE in the sun and enjoy your lunch by the house or one of the many restaurants near the sea. In the evenings, many of the restaurants have fireplaces that are cozy. The locals, both Turks and foreigners, that live all year round, are a very friendly lot indeed. Imagine going to the restored historical site of Efesus and perhaps being the only one there! The airlines offer very inexpensive winter rates to Istanbul from all over the world. From Bodrum there are some charters that run weekly in the off season and BA has daily flights to Izmir (3 hr. drive) from London
