Airline confirms winter flights to Med

Consumers in the UK will be able to take advantage of cheap flights to Mediterranean hotspots this winter, it has been revealed.

Low-cost airline bmibaby has confirmed that later this year, it will offer direct passage to destinations including Alicante, Malaga and Murcia.

Leisure travellers will also be able to take advantage of regular flights to Palma, Nice and Faro, places it describes as "key Mediterranean destinations".

Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, commented: "Sun lovers and holiday home owners will benefit from the frequent flights to places such as Malaga and Alicante."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that holidaymakers in Ireland will also be able to enjoy improved access to the Costa del Sol.

Aer Lingus has stated that as part of its winter 2008 schedule, it will put extra aircraft on the route between Dublin Airport and Malaga.
