Airline launches new French servicesFlight and travel info: 2 April 2008Holidaymakers from across the UK can now take advantage of additional flights to France. The services have been introduced by low-cost airline Flybe ahead of the peak summer season, which suggests that is expects it to be a popular location this year. Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at the carrier, was among those to indicate that these services are likely to be very popular. He commented: "We're advising people to book now to ensure they don't miss out." Consumers in Scotland can travel on flights from Glasgow to La Rochelle, while people in north-east England can fly to Rennes from Newcastle. Holidaymakers in the Channel Islands are also being offered extra flights, as services from Jersey to Nice and Paris Charles de Gaulle are also operating. According to the Independent, almost 11 million people from the UK decided to visit France last year, making it second only to Spain in terms of its popularity.
