Cape Verde authorities 'responding to interest from Britons'Property investment abroad: 24 December 2007Authorities in Cape Verde have reacted positively to the growing interest from British property investors, a newspaper has stated. UK-based publication the Telegraph said the creation of a new airport and the introduction of direct flights showed the country had responded quickly to the increasing demand from overseas. Cape Verde's national airline TACV recently introduced a service between Stansted Airport in London and capital city Praia, located on Santiago Island. This came ahead of the opening of a new international airport on the neighbouring Boavista Island, a facility which also handles flights from the UK. The Telegraph stated this had helped contribute to an increase in property values across Cape Verde, as prices had risen by 20 per cent this year.
