Cyprus popular with foreign property buyersCyprus: 20 May 2008In a survey looking at the top places for property investment throughout the world, Cyprus has been named as the number one choice, followed by France and Spain. The popularity of investing in foreign property was also highlighted in the research by magazine Jet-to-Let, with 50 per cent of investors saying they wanted to purchase property abroad in the next 24 months. Author and editor of the magazine Dominic Farell explained: "The adoption of the euro on 1st January 2008, the interest rate cut, oil and gas finds offshore and low taxes continue to make Cyprus very attractive for investors and homebuyers alike." It was noted in the survey that investment in property abroad was remained a strong option, partially due to the conditions of the housing market in the UK which offers smaller returns than its foreign counterparts.
