Egyptian market recommended to investorsProperty investment abroad: 10 April 2008Overseas property investors have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in Egypt. The north African country was praised by Egypt Revealed for weathering the economic storm which is currently affecting many major economies. According to currency specialist HiFX, issues such as the credit crunch and fears of a possible recession have given many prospective buyers the "jitters". However, Egypt Revealed has insisted that safe and profitable markets can still be found. Tahir Ali, managing director of the firm, commented: "We are very much in a period of rapid growth for the Egyptian market." He attributed this to its growing popularity among tourists, which has come about partly as a result of recent accessibility improvements. Mr Ali said the influx of foreign leisure travellers has created a need for rental accommodation in tourist hotspots, thereby creating new opportunities for overseas property investors to benefit.
