France recommended to property buyersProperty investments abroad: 6 March 20008Prospective buyers of foreign property are being encouraged to purchase a second home in France. The European country was recommended by Keith Miller of the Telegraph, who highlighted several of its attractions. Writing in the newspaper, he said the French property market is set to experience growth of between six and eight per cent this year. In addition, he stated that house prices are 30 per cent cheaper than those in Britain on average. Mr Miller commented: "Despite all the turbulence of recent months, it seems French property remains a good bet for UK buyers." This comes after the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors revealed that house prices in France went up by three per cent last year. Commenting on the findings, Georgina Caldwell of French Property News said they showed that supply and demand have now evened out. She added that while the rate of house price inflation was down on the previous year, this was a "normal state of affairs" for the French market. See our French featured properties
