German tourists boost demand for Spanish holiday homes

According to travel magazine Urlaub Perfekt, Spain is a very popular destination among holidaymakers from Germany.

The country came out on top in a poll of their favourite holiday destinations, ahead of rival markets such as Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Bulgaria.

Spain was praised for meeting all the important requirements outlined in the survey, such as being a family-friendly location and an affordable place to visit.

In addition, the country was said to offer a high standard of accommodation and good customer service.

According to the Spanish government, Germans accounted for the second-largest group of visiting holidaymakers during 2007.

About ten million people from Germany took a break in Spain last year, outnumbered only by the 16.3 million Britons.
