More people set to take city breaks in Croatia
Rental news: 26 March 2008The Croatian city of Dubrovnik could be a good option for rental investors as experts are predicting a surge in visitor numbers.
According to the Post Office, economic problems across the world are prompting some consumers to visit cheaper destinations.
The organisation said that concerns over the credit crunch and a possible slowdown in the economy are making people more aware of the cost of their holiday.
As a result, it believes consumers who want to go on short city breaks throughout the year may opt to visit eastern European locations instead of traditional places such as Barcelona.
The Post Office highlighted Dubrovnik as one location that is likely to grow in popularity, a development which will be welcomed by property investors in the region.
Helen Warburton, head of travel at the group, commented: "Costs in eastern Europe are generally lower than in the western cities."
Officials at the Croatian National Tourist Office recently revealed that that the country attracted 275,000 British tourists last year.
