Prague Airport predicts further growth

Prague Airport has revealed that it is expecting an increase in passenger numbers this year.

Thomson Financial reports that the Czech Republic-based facility handled about 12.4 million people during 2007.

However, the airport believes that the introduction of new flights and additional air carriers could push this year's figure up to 13.3 million.

An increase in air passenger numbers could also be a reflection of the country's growing popularity among foreign property buyers.

According to the Prague Post, the cheap price of housing in the Czech Republic has made it an attractive market for overseas investors.

The newpaper commented: "While it's far from a new trend, it's one that shows little sign of slowing down in the coming years."

Prague's appeal to foreign investors will have been enhanced even further by the recent launch of new flights to the city.
