Second home buyers encouraged to buy in Cape VerdeProperty investment abroad: 12 June 2008Holiday home buyers from overseas are being actively encouraged to purchase a residence in Cape Verde, it has been revealed. ShelterOffshore.com stated that many foreign investors can be put off potential opportunities by cumbersome or restrictive property-buying regulations. However, the website said Cape Verde is different, as the government is keen to attract both lifestyle buyers and overseas property investors. Therefore, it has removed various "bureaucratic hurdles" and tried to facilitate investment in the country. Rhiannon Davies, director of ShelterOffshore.com, remarked: "[This] certainly gives confidence to both the lifestyle home seeker and the property investor." She added that Cape Verde's economy is currently experiencing strong and positive growth. This, she said, means it offers long-term sustainable growth to foreign property owners.
