Central London is the hub of Olympic activity, so you’re never far from the action in Wandsworth. The nearest sports venues to Wandsworth are Wimbledon, Westminster, Dorset, the Olympic Park in Newham, as well as Hyde Park.

Wimbledon is the place to be if you want to cheer on the tennis players, or if you prefer beach volleyball you can watch all the action on purpose-built beach volleyball courts in Westminster. Sailing enthusiasts can watch all the sailing action in Dorset, whilst triathlon events can be seen in Hyde Park on the 4th and 7th of August. The newly built Olympic Park in Newham is the hub of sports activity with a Velodrome for all of the cycling events, the Aquatics Swimming Centre, as well as basketball arenas. It’s definitely the place to be on the 5th of August, for a day of athletics that includes the men’s 100m final.

Wandsworth Borough is home to the UK’s busiest railway station, Clapham Junction, which provides easy access to the rest of London. Wandsworth Common train station is just a 12-minute train ride from Victoria station.

London Underground services also link tube stations in Wandsworth to the District Line and Northern Line, and let’s not forget the extensive bus routes throughout Wandsworth and neighbouring boroughs, including 24-hour routes.
