He argues that the sharp increase in the popularity of Turkey this summer has led to a rise in prices there, while destinations like Spain are dropping prices.

Nick asked Holiday-Rentals to compare the cost of a week's rental of 3-bedroom properties region by region and found that, even though on average Turkey was significantly cheaper than Spain, region by region analysis showed that properties in several of the mainland Costas were below the average price of those in the popular southern Turkey, while it was only the very cheap accommodation on the Aegean coast that brought Turkey's average down. A similar picture can be seen in Portugal, France, Italy and Greece, where careful choice of regions can still mean prices which are lower than those outside the Eurozone.
