When leaving the city, a visit to one of the sensational beaches that line Turkey’s Aegean Coast. There are plenty to choose from, and there can be nowhere nicer to enjoy the afternoon sun than from a glorious beach next to the clean, warm waters of the sea.

Izmir has a remarkable climate, which sees temperatures soaring in June, resulting in monthly average temperatures of over 30˚C from June until September. The spring and autumn months are possibly the best time to explore the city and all its many attractions as the heat is far less relentless, meaning that you do not always have one eye on the beach! Rain in common in December, but temperatures during the day remain very mild, usually hovering around the 10˚C mark.
