Twice the size of all the other Hawaii islands combined there is something for everyone on the Big Island. If you seek sunshine, South Kohala is the ultimate vacation destination where the weather is best year round. Our guests enjoy the white-sand beaches minutes from their cottage. You can relax in scenic peace, away from the tourist fray of commercial towns yet not be isolated. In your cottage, you may greet the mornings with a quiet walk or jog in our traffic-free area in a lovely, scenic environment amid colourful birds and flowering gardens. You may take a morning swim down the road in the warm waters of the closest beaches. You'll enjoy the scenery on the way to the white-sand beaches of the Kohala Coast: Hapuna Beach, Kanaun'oa (Mauna Kea Beach), Puako & Wailea Bay, even a great beach for little children, Spencer's Beach Park where they can safely play at the water's edge. You can easily return to your cottage to shower and get ready for a day of exploration. Or, you may play a round of golf on nearby world-class courses or a set of tennis on public courts. Parker Ranch and north Kohala is where you may go for a Hawaiian-style (paniolo) horseback ride at a number of different stable areas. Some of the best island hiking trails and vistas are short distances away. If you stay with us, you could shop in nearby historic Waimea for anything from restaurants to groceries to antiques, or enjoy the peace and quiet to sleep late and enjoy breakfast on your lanai. If you like fishing, you may catch trophy fish.

During the winter season, you man experience snow on the slopes at the top of majestic Mauna Kea (volcano) and then go for an afternoon swim in aqua waters amid schools of curious tropical fish. Observe the Humpback whales visiting the islands from December to April. There are wonderful hikes, trails, coves, bays, cosy villages, and gorgeous vistas around us. All are conveniently accessible in minutes from your cottage. With our South Kohala location conveniently between Kawaihae, Waikoloa, Waimea and Hilo, you can get anywhere on the island from your cottage, including Volcanoes National Park. Roads are excellent with easy, scenic routes around the entire island. Come to Big Island and stay with us, where far away never felt so close to home.
