Cheweng Beach is the largest, best known and most developed beach here, and it is lined by an excellent shopping street which lines the back. Some of the best entertainment and shopping are found here. The Big Budda Beach, which gets its name from the huge statue at its southern tip, is a delightful, quiet beach near the airport. It is a great place to get a few hours sunbathing in before catching a flight, away from the bustle of the more tourist focused resorts.

The many little towns and villages are simply bursting with places of interest to visit, magnificent little shops and exquisite restaurants in which to sample some of the mouth-watering local cuisine. Apart from the beaches and glorious climate, the teeming seas which surround Koh Samui are some of the biggest attractions to the island. Weather in Koh Samui, Thailand

The peak season, (from December until February) Koh Samui basks in temperatures of around 30˚C every day. At the height of summer, from March until June, temperatures are remarkably hot, (around 40˚C), and the pace of life slows noticeably. However, from July onwards, temperatures become bearable again. The brief wet season lasts from October until early December.

Flights to Koh Samui, Thailand

Ko Samui has its own airport (USM), which has vastly reduced the time it takes to reach a holiday villa in Ko Samui, but flights do not arrive directly from the UK. However, as connecting flights from Bangkok (BKK) only take 80minutes, and there are a huge range of cheap flights from the UK to Bangkok, there is an easy way to reach the island!
