The Hostell Castell d’Emporda was built over 800 years ago and is a wonderful architectural treasure and focal point of the town. It once belonged to Pere Margarit who sailed with Columbus and himself discovered Margarita Island. The Baroque Church of Santa Maria de Bisbal was built in 901. There is also the Church of the Pieta, the Church of Dolori and the old 17th century Vell Bridge which are all worth a visit.
