Almunecar, the sister resort to La Herradura delights visitors on three fronts. The beaches are a major draw, and have made Almunecar a vibrant holiday destination, and the rich history from the Roman ruins to the mediaeval castle of San Miguel and Almunecar make for fascinating viewing. However, it is the huge Loro Sexi Bird Park which draws the majority of visitors to a self catering La Herradura villa to make the trip around the coast.

Salobrena is a picturesque whitewashed village which sits in the shadow of a dominant Moorish castle. The fine beaches and idyllic traditional lay out have made Salobrena a real tourist favourite, and snorkelling, diving, golf and fishing facilities on offer too.

Cheap flights to La Herradura, Spain

Grenada Airport and Malaga (AGP) Airport are both within an hour of accommodation in La Herradura, and although Grenada is around 10km closer, there are more regular cheap flights to Malaga available, which increases both your travel options and the weight of your purse!
