Priora is a semi-rural destination on the outskirts of the popular tourist destination of Sorrento. Amenities in the village are basic but adequate, with small food shops and cafe-bars offering plenty of rustic goods to help stock up supplies in your self-catering accommodation and try out your Italian language skills on the local business owners.
Massa Lubrense is 7km from Priora, and has more in the way of amenities and tourist facilities. With Sorrento also just 5km in the opposite direction, visitors to Priora are literally spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping and eating out. You can however simply elect to create your own dishes in the comfort of your Priora holiday accommodation, and eat outside and admire the unspoilt scenery.

As previously mentioned, Priora is usually used as a base for visiting Sorrento, and the small city has a good mix of modern and historic tourist attractions. Massa Lubrense is also just a stone’s throw from Priora, and has some of the finest restaurants in the region, as well as some fantastic nature trails and outdoor options. Naples is also 55km north-west around the coast, and an important city of art and culture that should be a definite day visit selection when staying in Priora.

A typical Mediterranean climate means that Priora is hot in summer and cool and damp in winter. Summer is by far and away the most popular time in which to visit the town, when there is plenty of sunshine and temperatures hovering around the 30C mark. Rainfall increases from September onwards, though temperatures remain warm until the middle of November.
