A day trip to the beautiful Algar Waterfalls high in the mountains is also recommended, while 24 kilometres north of Alicante are the wonderful Canelobre Caves.

The warmest time of the year to visit the Benidorm area is generally July and August when the average high is approximately 27 degrees centigrade. The summer is very dry with any showers very quickly passing. Even the winter months are quite mild with temperatures averaging a high of 13 degrees centigrade in January and December.

Alicante Airport (ALC) is nine kilometres west of Alicante and approximately 45 minutes drive from Benidorm. It has flights to and from other Spanish cities as well as international airports such as Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin-Tegel (TXL), Brussels-South Charleroi (CRL), Dublin (DUB), Geneva (GVA), London-Gatwick (LGW), Moscow-Domodedovo (DME), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) amongst others.
