Spend some time in the Westminster area, and try to get a photo taken of a red double-decker bus, as it passes in front of Big Ben. See the changing of the guard, and visit Westminster abbey. For a little bit of culture, there may be a ballet in town, or an opera being performed. The museums and art galleries of London are almost bursting at the seams with amazing exhibits; and a tour of a football ground would be a great idea if you are a fan of the premiership. The south coast is reasonably close, and a day trip to Brighton would enable you to see more of the country, and escape the city for a while.
