The huge wildlife park on which Los Balcones stands, the Saline de Torrevieja wildlife park, is a huge area of salt flats which turn a light hue of pink at various points throughout the year due to the algae concentrations. Aside from this intriguing colour change, the park is known as a favourite resting spot for migratory birds, especially flamingos, which also turn the area pink during their residence! The park is perfect for walking and cycling, offering beautiful, calming scenery and a range of indigenous wildlife.
