Although Los Gallardos is not situated directly on the coast, it is only a 10-minute drive down to the coast and the beaches which run alongside the slightly larger village of Mojacar. These pleasant beaches are a great place to relax in the summer, with the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea making a perfect place for families to swim.
There are also plenty of water sports on offer along the small stretch of coastline around Garrucha, also just a 10-minute drive from Los Gallardos. This includes leisurely activities such as sailing and fishing, as well as higher adrenaline options such as Scuba diving, surfing, water skiing and wind surfing.
Keen golfers will be kept entertained on holiday in Los Gallardos, with several world-class golf resorts located within a 10-minute drive, including the Cortijo Grande Golf Resort (5km away) and Valle del Este Resort (5.5km away).
Visitors should also be able to find plenty to occupy them in the evening around the local area, with several bars staying open late into the evening. Several of these bars are also a great place to sample the local tapas dishes, made from fresh local produce and including dishes unique to the region.

Los Gallardos is served by Almeria Airport (LEI), which is located 67km southwest of the village. Almeria Airport receives flights from both easyJet and Ryanair, with flights departing from London Stansted and London Gatwick. Hire cars are available from the airport and are the most convenient way to reach self-catering accommodation in Los Gallardos, which is some way from rail links.
