The area is also a working farm, with cows and sheep often found wandering around – also meaning the local produce can be sampled and purchased.
Montretondo is one of several small towns and villages just to the north of Rome which make for great exploring. Another place worthy of a visit is the historical Latin town of Mentana, which has an interesting archaeological museum housed in its town castle – which itself dates back to the 11th Century.

Flights to Monterotondo, Italy
Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is the largest in the country and receives direct flights from around the UK through airlines such as British Airways and Easyjet. It is however on the opposite side of Rome, so an alternative is to fly to Rome Ciampino (CIA), with Ryanair and Easyjet both flying to this destination. Bargain flights are they for the taking, so shop around.
