There are many places that you can visit from your Northern Thailand accommodation. The largest city in the region is Chiang Mai, a city well known for its spectacular temples. There is plenty more to see here too, such as the ancient City Walls, museums, and gardens. There is also an elephant camp here where you can ride an elephant, or visit the Chiangmai Zoo where there are over 7000 animals to see.

Other attractions in Northern Thailand include national parks such as Chiang Dao National Park which is best known for its caves, and numerous other national parks where trekking is particularly popular.

Temperatures are still very high here though. Taking popular Chiang Mai as an example, the hottest month is April with an average high of 36C (97F), whilst December is the coolest month with an average high of 28C (83F). Rainfall is possible throughout the year but the wettest months are between April and November, with August and September being the wettest.
