Things to do on holiday in Orba, Spain

It is very hard not to relax once you arrive at your holiday rental property in Orba. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and despite the popularity of the town with foreign visitors, there has been no dilution of the rich Spanish culture. The town church and old bell tower are the most interesting places to visit within the village, and if you are visiting, make sure you go into the church where a collection of local paintings are on display. There is no need to leave Orba during your holiday if you do not want to investigate further afield. There are some magnificent shops in Orba, as well as a long list of excellent restaurants to enjoy if you do not feel like cooking in your self catering Orba accommodation, and in the evenings, there are plenty of lively bars to frequent.

There are some fantastic fiestas which occur in the Orba Valley throughout the year, and many of the biggest and best are in the town itself. The four day fiesta in May and the week long festival in the last week of July are possibly the best time to be staying in an Orba property, although the running of the bulls in June is a spectacle which you must see, as there is nothing like seeing the inhabitants of a village fleeing through streets lined with colourful market stalls, chased by cattle! Joining in with the bull run is a sure way to get your adrenaline flying through your veins, but it is certainly dangerous.

The majority of people take an Orba property to relax though, and there are few places where you can relax and recuperate so easily. The wonderful countryside which surrounds Orba is the ideal place to walk and ride, with spectacular views spreading in every direction.

If the summer temperatures in Orba become slightly uncomfortable, help is at hand. The much celebrated beaches of the Costa Blanca are within a short drive of an Orba property, creating the perfect solution to the heat. Denia is the closest beach resort to a holiday rental villa in Orba, and has excellent facilities for a whole host of water sports, golf and fishing holidays.

The World Health Organisation has nominated the climate of Orba as one of the healthiest in the Costa Blanca, perfect for holidays. July and August see daily temperatures reaching the high 30’s (?C), with an average of 11 hours of sunshine a day. Even in winter, daily temperatures hover around the 20?C mark and rainfall is limited.

Flights to Orba, Spain

Flights to Orba land at either Alicante (ALC) or Valencia (VLC) airports, both of which are around an hour and a half by road from an Orba property. Both airports receive a large number of flights direct from the UK, and competition for passengers is high, resulting in some excellent bargains, especially during the traditional ‘off’ season.
