There are a number of beaches within the municipality, the majority of which are less than half an hour’s drive from Orihuela Town, in an area known as the Orihuela Costa. Closer to the city are a series of small towns and villages that lie in semi-rural locations amongst the regions fruit orchards, such as peaceful Algofa (13km) and historic San Miguel de Salinas (20km). The use of a car is recommended to explore this area to its fullest.
