When rented with the Guest House it is Ideal for the larger family or group of friends, The Main House of 125 m² is on one level and the Guest House of 100m² is a three storey house; the 2nd floor twin bedded mezzanine is bedroom 2 for this house and the master bedroom with ensuite shower room/WC is on the ground floor. Off the beaten track but with excellent access for touring the Dordogne and the Correze. The prices quoted are for The Main House alone with up to 6 people. The Guest house is an optional extra but not let alone.

Main House: high beamed living room 9m x 6.50m with wood burning stove. French windows to a very large south facing sun-trap terrace and windows overlook the pool and valley. Furniture includes: reading lamps, a six place dining table which extends to ten places, arm chairs, two writing desks, 3 seater settee and two, 3 seater sofa beds. Open aspect inner lobby containing a bookcase full of paperbacks. The separate kitchen is fully equipped, window overlooks the pool. There are two bedrooms Bedroom 1: double bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath, hand basin and bidet, separate WC outside of the suite. Bedroom 2: a double bed and two single beds and an adjacent WC/shower room. Guest House: steps leading up to front door and entering onto 1st floor: living room (approx.40m²) a sofa bed is included in this room, bathroom with bidet and WC, stairs to mezzanine twin bedded bedroom 2 , stairs to ground floor kitchen/diner (door to terrace) and bedroom 1 (double bed, single bed, shower/WC).

Notes to the rental rates

• The Rental rates are for the Main House alone for up to 6 people. The Guest House is only let with the Main House and will be charged where applicable at an additional rate depending on the occupancy. We now have a credit card payment facility, contact us for our personal web page.
  
• In April, May and late October onwards we are happy, where possible, to accept bookings commencing on days other than Saturday or short break bookings. The pool, terraces and garden are for the exclusive use of the party that have been specified on booking. Any variation on an initial booking must be notified to us and be agreed by us in writing prior to your arrival. Every possible effort will be made to maintain the pool and the household equipment in good order for the enjoyment of our guests, however, we cannot accept liability in the event of an unforeseen calamity but would ask you to bear with us while we attempt to rectify the problem as soon possible. We live in a neighbouring village and are on hand for any problems which may arise. For reasons of changeover cleaning the arrival time is 5pm and the departure time is 9am. We are sorry but love them as we do we never accept animals.
  
• A damages deposit of 300 euros (or the equivalent in other currencies i.e. £200) is payable with the final balance, this is held against serious damage or excessive cleaning problems and (all being well) is refundable according to your choice by UK cheque, direct bank transfer or via Paypal within one week of departure. Bookings will be accepted by telephone or e-mail, followed by a deposit of 30% of the total cost of the holiday within 6 days of that call. The balance will be payable 6 weeks before arrival. When booking please will you note that the accommodation in the Main House is for a maximum of 6 people with a baby in a cot and the Guest House for 5 people . We can accept payment by credit card, subject to a 3% surcharge, through PayPal.

The village of Azerat (approx 5min drive) has a bar and a grocers/ post office. There is also a swimming pool, a tennis court and a shady boules area. The beautifully restored village hall often hosts community events in July and August. Thenon, a small market town, is about five minutes drive from Azerat and has a good selection of shops with a Tuesday morning market. There are several very good restaurants locally with menus for a five course meal from around 12 Euros often with wine included. We have a very good English speaking doctor.

This tranquil part of the Dordogne, now officially classed as the Black Périgord, is between Hautefort in the White Périgord and Montignac (Lascaux caves). It is characterised by lush countryside, gently rolling hills, impressive caves and woodlands, rivers and lakes, sleepy hamlets and charming friendly people.

This is the home of prehistory and the sight seeing attractions range from the interesting to the spectacular. Although the pace of life is slow a wide range of activities can be enjoyed and include golf, canoeing, horse riding, tennis, donkey rides, cycle hire, and fishing, all within easy reach. There are lazy boat rides along the rivers or for the more active, the huge lake at Brive offers a wide variety of water sports. The forest adventure trail in Thenon has trail courses of varying degrees of challenge contact us for a link to their web site. Périgueux, 35 min by car, the capital of the Périgord, and Brive, just over the border in the Corrèze, are both large towns and are well worth visiting for the more culturally minded.
