'Vista Lago' formerly Hotel Larius, was originally built early in the last century. Recently the building has been painstakingly restored, with particular attention paid to the finishing and architectural details of its period. Indoor pool, a fitness area, and secure underground parking have been added to the grounds. Nearly everything in the apartment is new. Beautiful teak and marble tile from local quarries cover the floors. All furnishings, appliances, linens, and dinnerware are also new, ready for you to enjoy. Layout: on top (fourth) floor of a beautiful, gated building w/elevator. Vista Lago consists of a 2-bedroom apartment (sleeps 6). with an attached but separate studio, with its own kitchen and bath that sleeps 2 additional persons.

Two Bedroom Apartment : The two-bedroom apartment features a large, open gourmet kitchen with a center island, a living area with a double sleeper sofa and two balconies, a dining area, a glass table seating eight, two bedrooms (with a queen and double bed), each with water-view balconies, and two marble-tiled, full baths. (Master bedroom has a private bath.) A high chair and crib are available upon request. Amenities: Shared indoor pool & exercise room; gated underground parking; elevator;

Studio Apartment (or third 'bedroom'): It's perfect for one or two. A terrific value. You would likely not find a room in a hotel with a lake view, so direct, and certainly not one with a balcony for less that at least 2, maybe even 3 times the cost -- and have a kitchen too! If you are a group of 3 or more, add-on the studio too! It offers an extra marble bathroom, ( third bath) and shower too, a small kitchen. Fun for children, perfect for the au-pair, or just for someone to enjoy separate, quiet-time. A balcony with the most magnificent views, an extra TV/stereo/phone and sleep sofa with a fabulous view while sitting up AND while lying in bed, really something! Like its own personal suite/third bedroom or separate den for some quiet time. Equipped with a double pull-out sofa, CD/stereo, microwave, coffee machine,all dish ware, utensils, refrigerator, gas cook-top, oven. Chess, Local channel television, ( no washer dryer) parking space, cell phone, security monitor. NOTE: Studio does not have use of pool /gym area.

My husband and I and two other couples spent two weeks in May at Vista Lago. Carate Urio is an enchanting little village and the apartment is wonderful. The views are incredible and the location is perfect for traveling around the Lake. We enjoyed the ferry rides to the quaint villages, and the beautiful mountain scenery along the way. We ate most of our meals at the restaurant next door but did venture to Albergo Fiorini and Orso Bruno, both a short walk from the apartment. Both are excellent restaurants with friendly proprietors. We highly recommend a visit to Villa D'Este and Villa Balbianello and as many of the small villages as possible.

As we drove around the Lake from Vista Lago, heading back to the airport for departure, we all knew we would return.

We just returned from an amazing week at Vista Lago! Silvana was great and could not have been nicer or more helpful! She was so professional and her tour of Villa Balbienello was one of the highlights of our week. We agree with the other guests about the apartment's location- it was perfect for our day trips. And, the views were absolutely incredible! Thanks again Barbara and Silvana for a memorable week and we hope to return someday soon!

Last September we spent a week of our honeymoon at Vista Lago. It was ideally
suited for us - the views were magnificent and the apartment was perfect !!! The location was ideal - not too close to Como and not so far away either. The restaurant next door was fab and we also visited quite a
few super restaurants in the area, including Il Gatto Nero, Locanda d'ell
Isola Comacina, etc. After spending time in the busy cities of Venice & Milan, the relaxing atmosphere & incredible scenery of the lake was just what we needed. The apartment was superb & furnished with everything we needed. We hope to return one day. Thank you!

This was my first, but not last stay in Barbara's
apartment. It is in such a lovely location with such
beautiful views up and down the lake. I know the
area well, as I am restoring an old boathouse close
by and think it is one of the best spots on the lake.
The apartment was extremely comfortable and
made a perfect home away from home and work
base for my site visits. I'm looking forward to my
next stay.
