In the heart of Midcoast Maine is the place you've dreamed of - secluded, quiet, a piece of heaven. A great place for everything Maine has to offer. You start out with a breath taking view in the morning, when you get up. If you want to explore Maine, Popham Beach, Pemaquid Beach, Pemaquid Pointand Light House, Ried State Park and Beach Area, Round Pond a lovely village, are only a short drive, Westport is situated in the heart of scenic Maine. From the porch watch the, wild life, the boaters go by, the white water kayakers training, and a bald eagle nest. There are many places on Westport to swim, 2 places on the West Shore Rd, 1st Dike, and 2nd Dike, where the water is warm. Also if you like swimming in a huge pool at the Wiscasset Rec. Center is 10 minutes away. You can get to this cottage ,and back on one tank of gas from Marlbrough, MA.

A Nice Place to Get Away From it All

The cabin was described very accurately on the website. The place was very clean and well maintained. We were quite impressed with how well the pantry and kitchen were stocked with non-perishables. There was not only regular dinnerware and cookware, but there were also paper plates, bowls, napkins, and cups. Ketchup, mustard, cans of soup were available. Plastic wrap and bags were there for leftovers. Charcoal and lighters were there for the grill. Many things we thought we would need were already there. Making our meals was made easier since all we had to purchase was our food items. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of sheets, blankets and towels available, also. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a simple getaway, where it is quite at night and the stars are bright. I have already recommended this place to an acquaintance. Many places of interest are not too far from this location.

Peaceful, Restorative Getaway!

I thoroughly enjoyed my week's stay at the peaceful cottage. It was extremely clean and well-stocked beyond my expectations! It was a great place to decompress and revive myself. The views from the deck and upstairs bedroom were exceptional! I especially enjoyed witnessing the cylical nature of the tide--the changes in speed as well as direction. I also loved seeing ducks, swimming in twos, creatively navigating the tide. The owners were easy to contact by phone and very helpful. They guided me to great hiking trails right on the island. I will be back, and bring friends next time!!

A little piece of heaven

Four of us (two couples) spent 5 relaxing, fun days in your beautiful rustic cottage. The views of the tides, the eagle, all the different birds and the panorama were magnificent. We walked through the woods, we visited nearby Wiscasset (must be the antique capital of Maine), Boothbay Harbor (30 minutes away) and Pemaquid light house (30 minutes away). We went on a garden tour of 9 homes and gardens on Westport Isle and attended the local strawberry festival! Our timing was perfect, the weather was great.

Next time we will be kayaking and fishing. We spent alot of time on the porch enjoying the view. The upstairs bedroom views are the best (though careful with the steps). Everything we needed was there: paper plates, cups, pots and pans, dvd, vcr and tv. Everyone we met was really nice and helpful. Thanks so much.

Wonderful Stay at Westport Cottage

My family and I enjoyed the tranquility and beauty of this location. The cottage was rustic, but very accommodating and clean. Well stocked and comfortable. Especially if just hanging out on a rainy day. Off the beaten path so don't expect to walk to anything of interest although there were lovely dirt roads to walk in the woods. About an hour to Boothbay Harbor, that was a lovely tourist spot. Beautiful sandy beaches south around Bath. Plan a nice trip to explore and enjoy Maine.

Peace and Quiet

This is a sweet little cottage, with a nice big glass/screen porch. Everything was spotless, and it had more than the necessary ammenities.
The owner was very accomadating, The very best feature of this cottage is the view. I like to play around with paints and I sat for hours sketching and painting. Difinately a good spot if you want to get away from it all.
