In the Berkshire foothills of Litchfield county, NW Connecticut, Sharon is an upscale New England village with a classic green and historic houses. Our house is 1 mile from town, yet secluded on 28 acres of perennial borders, meadows, and woods. There is outdoor dining on the patio or on the terrace overlooking the croquet lawn, a cozy library with media center and a Steinway M, The house is graciously furnished with many antiques. It is our second home and your home away from home. It is well-suited to family reunions, business or spiritual retreats and small weddings. The town is home to the Sharon Playhouse, nearby restaurants provide fine dining. For nature lovers there is the Audubon Center, the Appalachian Trail, fly-fishing in the Housatonic River and swimming in Sharon Lake, all within a few miles. Fall offers spectacular color and Winter, both downhill and cross-country skiing. A year-round paradise!

Famous fly fishing (license required) and canoeing on the Housatonic River 15 min drive. Appalachian trail and many others for hiking. Audubon Center with wild life attractions 5 minutes away. Biking on rail trails or highway. Skiing - from Mohawk Mountain, small family location 15 minutes away to Catamount and other large areas in the Berkshires about 35 minutes drive.

We had a lovely weekend at this wonderful place in Sharon, CT. The house is beautiful, very well maintained and in a great location. The owner was communicative and helpful and wanted to make our stay the best possible experience. I would highly recommend this property to friends and can't wait to go back!

Great house

My family and I rented this house for a week during the Christmas season and had a great time. The house was ideal for a large (8 adults, three kids) family gathering with an ample kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Two working fireplaces made the home quite snug in the middle of winter. Overall, the house has a great old country house feel, which means tasteful decorations, comfortable furniture, a great library/study room but also that the appliances/plumbing are a little dated. My only complaint is that the wireless internet access is shared and the signal is fairly weak so connections not exactly high-speed - also limited cell-phone reception.
The surrounding area is quite beautiful and we took several walks around nearby farms. Great Barrington, Mass is a forty minute drive. We had a wonderful time and recommend the rental.
