The Winter Palace is perfect for relaxing and gracious entertaining, with a beautiful English paneled dining room, a large brick patio adorned with flowers, and a fabulous screened-in porch with open deck areas on either side for lounging. We also have a 2 bedroom cottage, with beautiful outdoor fire pit. Please inquire about availability.

Remodeled South Wing: The newly remodeled South Wing features a cozy reading room warmed by a stone fireplace and buttery leather furniture, 2 elegant country bedrooms off a conservatory hallway with skylights, mahogany wood floors, and tiled bathrooms. Window seats provide comfortable reading nooks with bucolic views.

North Wing: The North Wing offers a spacious Great Room with a vaulted ceiling and hand-hewn beams. Leonard Bernstein once played piano in this room when the Boston Symphony Orchestra used to rent the house during their summer residence at Tanglewood. Antiques and comfortable country furnishings give the house the quality of a classic New England inn.

My family and I rented this property in October 2008 for a family birthday. The house itself was fine. The bedrooms were large, the baths were great and the kitchen was good for a group to cook in. The butler's pantry had lots of storage for food and such. We had a nice visit .

The reason I say that my experience with this house was only fair is the fact that it is now April 2009 and I have just received my security deposit after almost six months of having to call and email to make this happen. We felt that we followed all of the checkout things that had to be done...but there were still some vague charges subtracted from the money.

We have rented houses from Key West to Maine. This has taught me never to rent a house without paperwork again. I want a signed contract with everything spelled out in black and white like we usually have. What a frustrating experience this has been!!!

Excellent for reunions of friends, family!

We stayed at the Winter Palace in October 2008. There were 10 adults and 3 kids. But with 7 bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms, no one ever felt like they were on top of someone else! The owners have decorated this house in a warm and inviting way. You will enjoy the joy of life that exudes from their family photos, but still feel like you have your own space. Kitchen is extremely well stocked and versatile for group cooking. Butler's pantry is available as extra space to put out food. Dining room totally rocks! Bathrooms have very good water pressure. Kids and sports fans enjoyed the satellite TV. Grounds are lovely. Neighborhood is quiet and very peaceful. Close to many attractions...rain or shine, you will have a great time!
