Staying at Lookout Farm is like sharing the home of family members you wish you had...it feels comfortable, familiar, welcoming and it's fully equipped. The location is dreamy--just steps away from the Appalachian Trail, great restaurants in town, and there's a lake and a hot tub! The kitchen is fun to cook in, all the rooms are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms. Even in July we kept the fireplace and outdoor fire pit blazing as the evening chill rolled in. It was a fantastic escape from care. You'll never want to leave.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway, Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Girls Getaway

Beautiful setting, comfortable cozy house with everything needed ... Close for day trips and great hiking in the area.
Golf nearby ... easy to get Tee time at Woodstock C.C.
Silver Lake few milkes north in Barnard. Excellent Resturants nearby ... Plenty of reading material in the house ... Books ... also good selection of Music ... Satellite TV if one is interested ... Comfortable Beds ... Great Master Bedroom Siute ... Relaxing blood pressure dropping retreat. Clean and cozy. Would definitely return!

Unfortunately we had previously stayed in this same property nine years ago. We were all al little disappointed to find that it had not been so well maintained. 1. Some of the patio decking is in need of urgent repair. 2. The path to the Beaver Pond is mowed, but we were unable to reach the lower pond. There were not chairs on which to sit and enjoy the Beavers. 3. On out first visit there was much wildlife --birds, squirrels, etc. and we were encouraged to keep them fed with the available bins of food (when we mentioned this, they did provide us with a bird feeder and some seed.) 4. The hot tub was not working until we complained and it was fixed. 5. The ice maker on deepfreeze was broken, so spewed out ice and water onto floor until it was mended.

The house is very well equipped, the views wonderful and everyone was very helpful.
Recommended for:  Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Unfortunately we had the wettest summer on recorded history in Vermont this summer. I can not do anything about the weather. As of the end of this month we had 18" of rain, that is more like a rain forest. To make up for any disappointment for our returning guest, we are offering Graham a free stay next summer. We are available by phone and offer to provide any services we can to make our guests stays as enjoyable as possible.
