Photos and Description of this Alburg holiday house - 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, crib, sleeps 8

Year-round home with the waters edge just 25 feet from the house. The porch is 10x20 and is both screened and glassed with a swing. The rest of the porch is left open to the sun and has built in benches. Boat dock (June to Sept) and four kayaks provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with an eating area. The yard has a flat area for games and a picnic table. Three full bathrooms. The living room and one bedroom have hardwood floors, carpet and tile are elsewhere. We face directly south on the broad part of Lake Champlain looking towards Isle La Motte .The lake bottom is generally sandy. There is a small country farm next door with friendly farm animals. This is a great place for families. At the bottom of this website, there is a link to my homepage with additional photos.

A great place for cross country skiing, windsurfing, bicycling, kayaking, fishing or just enjoying the water, peace and quiet. In the winter, cross country skiing and ice fishing are fun.

Notes: For beds we have, two twins pushed together with king size blankets in the master bedroom, one full size bed in the downstairs bedroom, and 2 extra long twin beds in each of the upstairs kid’s bedrooms. Boat dock (in season), 4 kayaks, town water, screened/glassed in porch. Well insulated for winter occupancy, with an attractive electric wood stove in winter. There is a small country farm next door.

2008 was about the 5th year that I and my friends have rented the house in Alburg. Everything you need is provided. It is a very peaceful location with the sounds of the Lake rocking you to sleep each night. The views of the Lake are spectacular, especially the sunsets over looking the Adirondack Mountains. The area is great for the outdoorsman, fishing being the reason We return each year. There are plenty of boat ramps around and a dock at the house if you so desire.

Beautiful House & Views!

I can't say enough good things about this place! It was very clean & nicely decorated with great views. In addition, it was very well stocked - from appliance & spices to movies, books & games -- Anne thought of everything! We were able to enjoy breakfast every morning looking out at the lake. Dinners were either on the porch or outside at the picnic table. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy ourselves. We all loved the farm next door. Waking up to the rooster crowing - gave it a real country feel. I loved all the cats that came to visit! Of course I'm a sucker for cats, so I had to share some of our leftovers with them!

There are a lot of nice things to do here including Parc Safari in Canada. We really enjoyed our day there. We also spent some time in Burlington and Montreal. It's close enough to both places so that you can easily spend the day there. We were lucky to be there during the Champlain Valley Fair, which we enjoyed very much.

I would highly recommend staying here. For small families or larger groups, there's plenty of room for everyone!

A Perfect Getaway!

We just returned from a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable stay at Anne's cozy and beautiful lake house. The pictures on the website don't even come close to showing how lovely it really is. The home is inviting and warm with all the comforts of home, not to mention the gorgeous view of Lake Champlain and the fall colors. Anne is such a dream to work with - flexible, accommodating and very helpful. The view from the living room and glassed-in porch in both the morning and evening is absolutely breathtaking - perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need, ending any desire to eat in restaurants. The beds were warm and comfortable and the bathrooms were big, clean and in perfect condition.
The house is in a perfect location, allowing us to explore most of Northern and Central Vermont, as well as Montreal. After a day of exploration, we always looked forward to returning "home" for a relaxing and enjoyable evening!
I would highly recommend the Alburg Lake House to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Vermont!

Ice Fishing Trip

We visitied Alburg in March for a fishing excursion. I caught the largest pike I had ever caught in my 40 + years! There was plenty of room in Annes home, with everything we needed to come home to after a hard day of ice fishing. We were very impressed at how well kept and modernized Anne's home was. I am looking forward to visiting next winter, maybe sooner for some summertime fun.

Rest, Relaxation, and Renewal

I can't say enough good about this rental. I stayed 11 days and loved every minute. The best seat in the house is on the enclosed porch on the swing which Anne has thoughtfully provided with a nice throw. The sun setting over the Andirondack mountains each evening was mesmerizing.
As for the farm next door, I must have "sucker" emblazoned on my forehead. One of the half-grown cats adopted me for the duration. She kept me from missing my own cat as much.
I've never rented a place like this before, but believe me, I'll do it again in a heart beat. The sound of the water on the shore (it really IS as close as the pictures show), the chatter of leaves as they fell, the sparkle of the lake--it doesn't get much better than this!
I'm already planning when I can return. Anne really goes the extra step.
