Owner's Response: We have guests with young families visiting us from all over the world and in five years of running this complex this is the first set of customers to complain. The pool is advertised as a natural pool. I have reviewed the photgraphs on our advertisment and can honestly say that the pool looks exactly the same today. All of our guests really love the chemical free pool and actually enjoy seeing normal aquatic life such as frogs and tadpoles as well as plants and fish in the filter pools. It is, after all, as nature intended. Most children really enjoy seeing nature up close given the chance and I haven't found any evidence or argument in fact that suggests that tadpoles are harmful to humans in any way whatsoever. In fact their existance would indicate that the water is actually clean. The pool is cleaned by Germicidal Ultra violet light (UVC). There is a lot of information on the web about it so I won't go into too much detail here, suffice to say that it is the most effecient system for killing all bacteria, much more in fact than chlorine or salt pools.This enables us to run the pool without chemicals. We use a oxidiser to control any blanket weed growth which can occur and we may introduce an ozone unit which will help reduce the effects of sun creams and oils in the water for next year. The P.H level has remained at 7:0 The water is much cleaner than the local lake. It too has frogs, tadpoles and lots of fish in it but you cant see them because the water isn't as clear as the pool. Mark is mistaken about the spa pool. It isn't an algae infested reed bed. It is actually situated between two reed beds. He didn't see it for some reason? I can't understand why. It is quite clear on the pictures too. There are plenty of places to sit out. All of our gites have outside private space with tables and chairs. There are also more tables and chairs by the pool area as well as sun loungers and a communal bbq area. We have lots of repeat bookings which speaks for itself. We really couldn't understand why this group from Ireland didn't enjoy the space. The children certainly seemd to enjoy feeding and helping with the animals and seemed to be really quite upset that they were going home. Other guests that were staying here at the same time as this family couldn't understand their complaints at all. They have already booked again to stay with us for next year. As have the family that stayed in the same gite the following week.
