East Tawas holiday house

We are a large family - grandparents, married children and grandchildren ranging in age from 13-3. For a number of years we have rented different cottages for a big family vacation week. In June/July 2008 we found the perfect place for us. Right on Lake Huron, beautiful beach, spacious lawn, gorgeous deck overlooking the lake. There is space for everybody and everything. This place is exceptionally clean with a beautiful kitchen equipped with everything you could need. Privacy – huge family room with ping-pong – overhead projection TV, etc for children. Huge living room overlooking the lake for adult enjoyment. The owners were friendly, communicative and even provided a very informative info letter on the area. We hope to return some day.

We had an awesome time and the house could not have worked out more perfectly for our group of (16) people all from California and Michigan!

We brought along our Wii video game system and hooked it up to the projection TV, which made for a lot of fun at a life size scale!

With the size group that we had, we had initial concerns about everyone being able to shower and have hot water available, but to our delight, it was never an issue. The hot water system you have is more than adequate to accommodate a large group, hats off to whomever specified the system!

The house description and location was perfect as well as the restaurant suggestions that where laid out in the welcome letter. We talked to the family that was staying at the home next door, they where very friendly and kind enough to lend us their row boat a couple of times to go out fishing. Mackinaw Island was a short drive away and made for a great day trip.

We would love to return to your house and would definitely recommend it to family, friends and whoever was looking to stay in the area.

We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home. Lake Huron is so special to our family. Our family has been visiting the lake since the early 1900s. To stay on the lake in style (the beautiful home) was great. All we had to do was grocery shop and start vacationing. We had so much fun preparing meals in the big fully equiped kitchen with a view, that we didn't mind cooking on vacation. The big table where we could all gather made it even more special and of course with the view. Since the place is not around public entries, it was like having your own beach and not having to compete for spots. We loved the campfire pit and had one almost every night. We rented a boat at the AuGrey marina one day and visited Lumberman's monument the other. The sun rises were incredible. My only feedback for the owners to make this experience totally complete is to have 4-6 adult bicyles on hand to explore even more! The website pics do not do this property justice. I would also post pictures of the outside of the house (front and back) so folks can see how beautiful the house is, maybe even a shot of the beach from both directions. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for the perfect vacation!
