Take a moment and let me share with you the uniqueness of 'Genesis,' my own private escape. This authentic log cabin/chalet, completed in 2001, boasts three stories, over 2000 square feet, and overlooks the Little River, awesome! Step through the front door and your attention is immediately drawn to the high cathedral ceilings, allowing you to enjoy the warm woodlands outside the two stories of windows. Spacious seating arrangements are here, and all of the Broyhill seats will recline for your comfort! The 60' big screen TV is a hit with cable/DVD/VCR. To complete the coziness is an Englander wood stove, champagne-colored ceramic tile, ceiling fans, and main conversation piece is the hand-hewn staircase, cut from locally fallen timbers. Step outside to the screened balcony and awe at the majestic Smokey Mountain backdrop against the serene blue sky. Linger and you just may see the hazy 'smoke' boiling your way, which gives those beautiful mountains their name. Breathtaking!

    We ask for a one-night's base deposit of $240 at reservation with the balance due one week in advance of your arrival...two weeks for a holiday booking. There will be a minimum $50.00 fee for processing/holding any cancellation or you may re-schedule to another time for a $25.00 re-booking fee. If you must cancel, please do so prior to 30 days of your arrival to give us time to advertise and re-book. Otherwise, we could retain 90% of your rental if the chalet does not book.
  • Please note that starting the Summer of 2008 we prefer to book full weeks during June, July, the first two weeks of August, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays with no empty dates between bookings. We are large enough to serve you yet small enough to care for you. These time frames will book without question and we simply need to do it this way to continue to provide you with one of the best vacation spots in the Smokies! Notes: We choose to make you comfortable by including all the little things you don't want to pack and carry with you such as trash bags, dish detergent, coffee filters, laundry detergent, bath soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, linens galore and firewood for the Englander stove as well as the outdoor fire pit...nice place to hang out! Three or four bedrooms plus sleep loft...3 baths: Upstairs is a full bath, two bedrooms each with a queen bed and full futon, and a sleep loft area with full bunk on bottom and single on top. Include the king bed on the main level and the bunk in the game room and you have total sleeping arrangements for 16. Comfortable for 9, real cozy for the full 16! Speaking of game room, it sports a regulation oak, Georgetown slate billiard table for your entertainment! Although we have plenty, you may wanna bring your 'prized' cue stick and strut your stuff. Down here is another TV with Sega Genesis, games, VCR, Cable, Dart board and darts, and an exercise bike to stay in shape while on your vacation : ) Free swimming pool privileges for our guests at the lovely Laurel Valley Golf and Country Club only 4 scenic miles away!

Outdoor fun...: For your pleasure, 'Genesis' has an outdoor fire pit for sharing conversation, roasting marshmallows or hot dogs, warming up on a cold winter's night, etc. A favorite place to be.

Area activities galore...: You're only 18 miles from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Ober Gatlinburg and skiing, music theaters, outlet malls, and activities of all sorts. Historic Cades cove is only 7 miles away...slow down and let the dear pass! Bordering on the Great Smokey Mountain National Park boundary line, nature truly abounds. With a four mile River running through it, tubing is the biggest pastime in Townsend during the hot, sweltering months...looks like a polka dotted river! Newly opened Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center is only a mile away! Why not check out spelunking or geocaching while in our area... there's some mighty fine, unique little treasures to be found in this cozy town!

Ski: Thinking ahead to a winter retreat? Adventurous Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort is only 20 scenic miles away. Park in Gatlinburg and take the famous areal tram up to the resort. From beginners to the novice, a trail to blaze for all. Skating rink and hot chocolate inside....ummmmmh.

Golf: During the months of June, July and some of August you will have swimming privileges ad the lovely Laurel Valley Country Club and Golf course. Sitting high and surrounded by lush green mountains and playing greens....nice! Only 4 scenic miles away.

THIS CABIN IS AWESOME, WE STAYED THERE IN 2003 AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT EVER SINCE. I DO NOT HAVE THE WORDS TO SAY HOW MUCH WE ENJOYED THIS PLACE AND NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER MISPLACE THE INFORMATION AGAIN WE WILL BE THERE IN DECEMBER

Absolutely Beautiful!

Everything about Genesis was wonderful! This is my second time staying in one of Billie's cabins. Last year was cabin Refuge and this year beautiful Genesis. This cabin has everything anyone would need and more. It is fully stocked with everything you need. The laundry room was great. The kitchen had everything you needed plus more! Three complete bathrooms but my favorite was the beautiful tile shower off the master bedroom. You have to see it. It was wonderful! The full size recreation room had it's own bathroom, a big pool table and even a full size refrigerator. It has a full size futon style bed and a upper twin over it. You have a beautiful screened in porch with a table and chairs that you can just relax and watch the river below and listen to all the birds. The hot tub is amazing. If you want all the best that the Smokies have to offer, then rent this cabin or even one of the smaller ones. I can not say enough about how wonderful the owner Billie and her son Jay are. They go the extra distance to make sure that you have the best vacation ever! We consider them family. We would highly recommend any of her three cabins. They are very clean and private. You will be right outside the entrance to the Park where you can go to Gatlinburg,Cherokee, or Pigeon Forge. Townsend offers very good restaurants plus alot of other activities. If you want a vacation rental that is very clean,quiet and fully stocked then you can't go wrong with one of Billie's cabins. The smaller ones are just as nice if you have a smaller family. I hope this review will help any who are looking for a perfect place to stay! You will not regret your choice of this cabin or one of the other two!

Our 1st family cabin vacation

Very nice cabin, had everything you need. We only had to buy food. We would recomend this, and would like to go back again in the summer. Very relaxing and cozy cabin. Very spacous and the kids had a blast.

We have stayed at Billies' cabins many times. She has three cabins, and I have stayed in all of them, they are all fantastic ! Each has it's own personality, plus all the extras that she puts into each of her cabins. We have stayed at Genesis, several times, and we can not wait to go back !! My whole family loves to go there. It is beautiful, serene, and tucked away in the mountains, you never want to leave. You can hear the Little River flowing while you are sleeping, how relaxing !!It takes a special person to put so much care, love and personality into each and every cabin. We were at Genesis one time in winter, and it started to snow while we were in the hot tub...Fantastic !!!Billie is a very special person and her cabins reflect this in every aspect. We have been to the cabins, in every season..it is fantastic, whenever you visit. Keep up the warm atmosphere and love you put into each cabin. We plan to go back to Genesis, real soon !!!!

Last weekend my husband and I along with 2 other couples and our college age son spent the long weekend in Genesis. It was wonderful! It has such a quaint, cozy decor with a wonderful view and such a serene setting. If I had never left the cabin the few days we were in the mountains I would have been happy. We all had a great time, laughed a lot and got to know each other even better. It was a vacation I will always remember and highly recommend this cabin to anyone! It is furnished with everything you need from laundry detergent to spices in the kitchen! Thanks Billie!!
