A quaint, completely remodeled home, with new kitchen and fresh furnishings throughout, surrounded by spacious fields, woods and ponds. These peaceful surroundings create the perfect atmosphere for anyone who needs to escape the stress of everyday life. The house includes a spacious living room, three bedrooms and a very comfortable pull out couch that sleeps eight, two full bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. Throughout the house you will find new hardwood floors. a large private back yard, and a large deck perfect for a family BBQ. This house is located one mile from the beaches and a half mile from the center of town which has three churches, a grocery and liquor store, library, video store, dry cleaners, pizza shop, local breakfast/lunch eatery, community center, playground, tennis and basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, real estate brokers, police/fire barn and town hall.

Home is not well maintained. Missing light bulbs in many lamps. Owner did not provide a key, we had to lock up our valuables in our car while away from the home. Basement is wet, dirty and has a strong oil smell. Home was not cleaned before our arrival and did not have cleaning products available - we left it in much better shape than we found it! Basic cooking utensils missing and was not well equipped. Disappointed and will not stay there again.
Owner's Response: I am sorry to see such a response to my home. I have been renting my home for a number of years. I never recieved a phone call from these tenants informing me of any problems. I always respond to any deficiencies that may be experienced. I only wish they had contacted me as soon as they arrived. Relative to keys. We don't lock our homes in Little Compton. I would have provided a key if they asked.

Not quite as shown, but still a good time

We are a family of seven. We stayed for 2 weeks in June 2007. We had a great time, and although that was mainly because the weather was perfect and all our flights were on time, the house was pretty much as advertised. Plenty of peace and quiet. The deck was very nice, and the plumbing and appliances worked fine. The electrics are wired kind of funny, but again it all works. The property owner, Mr. Smith, was very pleasant and easy to deal with. Some things to be aware of are
- there was no bigscreen TV, although it showed one in the photos
- there is a small auto repair shop nearby that you also cannot see on the photos, but there was rarely anyone there during our stay
- the basement was wet and smelly and used for storage, we had to be careful to keep our younger kids away from it
- cell phone signal is weak, so I am glad to see he added a landline.
For the $800.00 per week we paid, it was a bargain.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

We stayed in Aug of 2007.
It is a cute, clean, quite home, that could use som minor maintanence.
There was no AC, and I chose this house for that.
The photo of the TV is not correct, we did not watch a lot of TV, but the kids were disapointed it wasn't even close to a big screen.
It is over 2 miles to the beach not 1 mile.
Owner's Response: I did have A/C available, but they requested that I not install it, as the weather, as usual, didn't require it. Relative to the TV, they did not mention this to me and would have certainly provided a larger TV if they wanted it. I do have three properties and occasionally move equipment from one property to the next, depending upon requests. The property is exactly 1.2 miles from the beach. They may have chosen a beach that is farther away.Nathan
