Photos and Description of this Franklin holiday cottage 2 Queen Br., 1 Loft w/twin beds, 1 bath, maximum 6 people

Vacationers come to Maine for many reasons. Here is one more. Secluded on 37 acres with 1000 feet of shore front this immaculate post and beam cottage is for rent for the third year. The pictures tell a good story . We have found that one of the most liked aspects of renting here is the the outside fireplace with it's two gas fired lobster cookers as well as a large gas grill. A great spot for cooking and family gettogethers. Some of the following check mark info's don't cover everything such as the fact that the cottage is on an estuary of the ocean and therefore has very calm waters for kayaking and exploring the shoreline. The cottage is the only cottage on the this 37 acre lot and therefore has a great deal of privacy. There is a gate that you can lock at night for total privacy. Please call or email for more info.

Nearest Airport: Bar Harbor, Maine at 15 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 15 Miles
Car: necessary
Located in Franklin, Maine, 20 miles from Mt Desert Island, 14 miles from Ellsworth shopping and 18 miles from another area of Acadia National Park, Schoodic Point. Abundant hiking trails and lakes for freshwater swimming. On those days when it looks gloomy or is raining it seems that everyone goes shopping. Ellsworth has many excellent stores such as LL Bean, Reny's, considered to be a Maine gem for many varied items in clothing, food, etc. And of course the really greatest bargain store in Maine, Marden's. There are a number of very nice antique shops in Ellsworth and if you enjoy antiques and collectibles, don't miss The Big Chicken Barn located about 12 miles west on route #1. There is no denying that Bar Harbor is well endowed with shopping at it's finest.

Notes: The cottage has two queens beds in separate rooms with two twin beds in the loft. Enjoy the outdoors with a nap in the hammock, or paddle out to see the seals and various sea birds in one of the four kayaks or the canoe .; if you are up for it you can even dig some clams right out the front door, plan to prepare dinner on the outdoor fireplace with cookers for lobsters and clams along with a gas grill for barbecuing. There is dial up internet access if your IPS has a local or toll free number.

Cottage amenities: There are 4 kayaks at the cottage with life preservers, plenty of outside furniture, an open fire popcorn popper, hammock as well as the lobster cookers and grill mentioned elsewhere. In the kitchen there are many spices, flour sugar, coffee, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, etc., to get you started. Also mentioned elsewhere, an iron, ironing board, washer, dryer. also a supply of laundry soap paper towels and toilet tissue all to get you started.
