'Serenity- A Log Home' is Northern Log Home set on 1.7 acres in Bass Harbor. This picturesque retreat is nestled against Acadia National Park on Mt Desert Island. 'Serenity' is a stunning home and we invite you to share in her private splendor. Serenity is located just 1/4 mile from stunning Bass Harbor on Mt Desert Island. The island is host to Acadia National Park, one of the premier National treasures. The home is decorated with designer touches, and is filled with light and beauty. Overstuffed furniture ensures your comfort. A loft bedroom offers a haven from the day. The second & third bedrooms radiate with warmth day-beds and trundles that make the rooms also enjoyable for day time lounging. Skylights and magnificent windows are throughout. Lounge outdoors on the Adirondack chairs or make a barbeque on the grill. Glorious hardwood and tile floors are throughout. Every year we update Serenity. New for 2007 was an enclosed porch. New for 2008 is high speed Internet.

Bass Harbor is host to Bass Harbor Light, one of the many lighthouses on Mt Desert Island. Your camera will get a work out in this incredible vacation resort! Acadia National Park has an entrance just a few miles away. There you can hike casually or challenge yourself on trails like 'Precipice' that take you skyward. Jordan Pond offers afternoon tea in elegant fashion. Kayaking and water sports abound. Sail on the Schooner 'Mary Todd' or spend a day at a whale or seal watch. Having your lobster dinner cooked outdoors in salt water on real wood-burning stoves is a treat you will long remember. Don't forget to save room for Maine blueberry pie! Take a horse drawn tour through some of the many miles of carriage roads that Rockefeller built ensuring that no car would ever set tire upon them! Wake up before dawn and ascend to the top of Cadillac Mountain to the spiritual rebirth that lies waiting for you as the sun rises on the highest Easternmost Mountain.

Renting this property was one of the best decisions I made this summer. It had everything two moms and four kids could want. We loved the location (about a half hour from Bar Harbor, close to a lighthouse), and the house had all that we needed: T.V, washer, dryer, long driveway for kids to bike, grill...the list goes on!! Thanks so much to the owners for sharing this great place!!!

After a one week stay at Serenity, we would definitely reccomend the log cabin home to anyone visiting the Acadia area. The home was in immaculate condition and was equipped with everything needed. Carl and Sandra were quite helpful with everthing needed before and during our stay. The location was within waliking distance to the ocean and a couple good restaurants, and within minutes driving time to other attractions such as hiking Acadia, the Bass Harbor lighthouse, and the town of Bar Harbor. The nice thing about the location was that even with the close proximity to these attractions, when you turned in the drive to the property, it was actually quite secluded. It was quiet and peaceful, especially at night.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

My family and I (3 small children and 2 adults) had a very nice stay at Serenity. The rental property was exactly as described. It was clean and well maintained. It is located in a quiet part of the Island and would be perfect for someone looking to get away from the hassle of the everyday. It is also a short drive from many activities. We would willingly recommend this rental.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
