There are bathroom facilities, outdoor grills and shelters to enhance your comfort. The beach and its facilities are always well kept. From the beach you can
see an island about 3 miles out in the Gulf named Anclote Key. It is accessible by boat only. If you are feeling adventurous, you can cruise out and spend the night under the stars and explore an old lighthouse.
Tarpon Springs is a 10-minute drive south on Route 19 where you can visit the famous sponge docks and dine at one of the many fine restaurants. Clearwater is an additional 15 minutes south on Route 19 and has even more beach activities. If you enjoy shopping, you could drive to one of Tampa’s shopping malls, like International Mall
right next to TIA or Citrus Park Mall. St. Petersburg, which is about a 35-minute drive, also has many beaches, parks and museums. Bush Gardens in Tampa is only about 30 minutes away. If you’re interested in Disney World during your stay, it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes for the drive - if you avoid rush hour.
