The property is surrounded by a large terrace with sea view, ideal for alfresco dining and relaxing with a bottle of Sicilian wine. There is also a roof garden where you can sunbathe or B.B.Q with a view of the sea.

Alcamo Marina stretches along the coast for approximately four miles where it joins Castellamare and Spiagetta. There are many restaurants and bars dotted along this coastline. There are some fantastic restaurants and bars in the Port in Castellamare and La Gambusa comes highly recommended by locals. Some further 3 to 4 miles further are a few places I can recommend. Guidaloga has a beautiful beach and a little further on you will come across the little village of Scopello with its stunning views over the coastline. There is a very good restaurant with open air tables called La Terraza, which overlooks the sea and does amazing seafood dishes.If you like walking then there is the National Reserve, Zingara which is a nature park that is high on the cliffs overlooking the sea. There are also thermal baths close to the train station in Alcamo called Aqua Calda.

Notes: It is advisable to arrange to rent a car for this location. Ryanair fly daily from Stanstead to Palermo. Also in the summer months there are flightys from Gatwick to Palermo on Easyjet and also from Birmingham to Trapani on Ryanair (approx 10 kilometres further than Palermo Airport to the villa). In 2008 there will be a new 45 hole Golf Course completed near Sciacca (approx 80 kilometres from Alcamo Marina). There are several supermarkets in the locality.

Fantastic Sicilly

We had a wounderfull time in this house,we .is to familys from Norway,adventure seekers this is the perfect place,and best off all there is almost no tourists her .
the hose is almost new and god ecuiped.whit a wounderfull therasse were you can enjoy late ouers.

Beautiful terrace

Dear Mr Barresi,
we have a lot of beautiful days in Sicily, also in Alcamo. Your house is nice, well equipped and the terrace really beautiful. We visited Erice, Riserva dello Zingaro by ship, Segesta, Monreale, Palermo and Tindari. Really astonishing.

This is the real Sicilia!

We have just spent a week at this property in June and had a fantastic time. The villa was very clean, child friendly, and had everything we needed. We hired a car, and managed to clock up over 900km as there are so many amazing places to visit. I would recommend any holidaymakers visit the ancient Greek temple and amphitheatre at Segesta, which is not too far away. Another place close by which cannot be missed is the Aqua Calda hot springs swimming pool. The adult pool is 40 degrees in temperature, and our girls enjoyed the slightly cooler childrens pool. Our favourite day out was spent at a superb beach at San Vito. The crystal clear water was excellant for snorkelling. For an evening stroll, or a restaraunt meal, the small neighbouring harbour town of Castellamare comes alive in the evening.
This villa in Alcamo Marina is definately the place to go if you want to experience the real Sicily and avoid the characterless tourist resorts that you find all too commonly elsewhere in Europe. My only regret is that we didn't book for two weeks, as there were so many other places we didn't manage to visit.

Great family holiday

Anthony and Sarah:
It was a fantastic family holiday, plenty of sun, good food and lots to see. Great beaches, clean air. It is well worth traveling to Mount Etna for a unique experience. If you have time Palermo is worth going to. If you like ancient history the Temple and Amphitheatre at Segesta are close.
We can thoroughly recomend this holiday, the villa is very comfortable with views of the sea, and the owner is more than helpful.

Beautiful view

A nice house. Quite simpel but with a very fine terrace where we spent a lot of time.
When we were looking for a house we got the impression that it was 3 bedrooms and it is not! However I can see now that it says 2 bedroom and that is correct. The house was properly cleaned och the standard was OK.
It is a very small village with rather few restaurants and I don't think is suitable for young people who wants to go disco for example. The restaurant at the beach was very fine with good food and friendly service. We joined it several times.
If you want to have a peaceful "back-laid" holiday I can higly recommend this house.
However it was very difficult to drive up to the house with a car because of the extremely steep way up. It his higly recommended that you hire a small and strong car.
As I wrote earlier: The view is magnificant from the terrace.
