Dramatic renovation of ca. 1820 carriage house in Barnstable Village on historic Rte 6A. Spacious open floor plan filled with antiques, sleeps 8. Walking distance to sandy Millway Beach and Barnstable Village which features many restaurants, galleries and live theater at the Barnstable Comedy Club. Completely new interior, AC, cable tv, patio with grill. Available from mid June through mid October.

Fabulous Phinney's Barn

Staying at the Barn is like living in an article in a 2 page spread in Architectural Digest. Everything is perfect; from the the Bose CD player to the Ralph Lauren linens, and the huge bowl of fresh lilies left on the talbe when one arrives. The amenities are terrific. There is an abundance of beach towels and chairs, and a beach pass to 17 different area beaches to be investigated . The barn itself will take your breath away. From the patio, to the loft, to the sleeping quarters - everything is done with guest comfort in mind. A bright and cheery venue and one I would reccomend to anyone who wanted a bit of luxury and a beach vacation. The location is hard to beat. You can walk downtown to the shops and restaurants, and you're within short driving distances to malls, restuarants and ferry boat landings. Route 6 is easily accessible and it's only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Logan.
I loved it so much I rented it again in 2008 and can hardly wait to return.

We loved our stay at Phinney's Barn

Everything that went into this beautifully restored carriage house is top quality. Our beds were wonderfully comfortable, and we enjoyed coming back from a day of sightseeing to fix a cup of tea in the fabulous kitchen and sit in the comfortable leather chairs. The mid-Cape location made our daily expeditions easy, and we loved our location in the scenic and quiet town of Barnstable.

Charm, convenience and comfort!

Our first experience renting over the internet proved to be a really special experience for our small family and 4 legged family member. Serena was terrific and concerned with making our stay perfect in every way. The barn is charming, with everything a family could want, including all equipment for the beach. She tried to think of everything to make her guests comfortable, and was willing to help out when we were stranded without a car--what more could one want from a hostess? The barn was exactly as described--beautifully decorated, with all kinds of special touches that made our stay memorable. We appreciated her kind willingness to let us bring our 4 legged family member too--that made it a better vacation for all of us, including my 15 year old daugher. We loved being in Barnstable Village, so we could walk to town for coffee and breakfast, and the location is very convenient to reach anywhere on the Cape. And the beach pass to all Barnstable beaches meant we got to try out different locations each day! It was a wonderful vacation, and we'd love to repeat it again sometime. Sue, Howard, Sarah and Joey

Beautiful home

This barn has been beautifully restored and we just loved staying here during our vacation in October. It is a large, open living space that is filled with antique treasures everywhere you turn. The loft really feels private (noise carries though). The downstairs has the other bedrooms and bathroom & is quaint, but a bit on the dark side (basement feel). Also, the house is on Main St. (busy) and there is not a backyard. We had our 20 month old son & would have liked a bit more outdoor space off the busy road--then again, a wonderful beach is just a half mile away too! There is a wonderful playground behind the cemetary across the street too. We loved being so close to the village for coffee at Nirvana in the morning & dinner at the tavern or The Dolphin at night as well. Serena, the owner, is just lovely and personally made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We hope to be able to visit again sometime!
